Stay tuned...

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. 4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. 1

BREAKFAST IS SERVED! We are kicking off our major fundraising efforts with an All You Can Eat Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at Applebee’s Restaurant in Christiansburg on Saturday, October 17th from 8am to 10am. The cost of the event is $5 per person. We will be selling ticket booklets packaged 10 tickets per booklet. So, for every booklet we can sell, Pathway Christian Academy will generate $50 for our school. We are signing out each booklet to keep account. This allows us to make sure all tickets are being used. If you have any tickets left in your booklet, please turn them in by October 9 as others may be able to sell them. Along with extra tickets, please turn in your stubs with the money so that we will have record of the names that bought them. A ticket must be presented at the door of Applebee’s to get in. Each family will receive your booklet of tickets to be brought home by your child by September 28. In addition to asking everyone to sell these tickets, we will also be asking for help at the restaurant. We are in need of 8 to 10 volunteers to help serve the breakfast and to help with cleaning up at Applebee’s. As you know fundraising is an essential part of the day to day operation of Pathway. The tuition for your child goes towards paying our fine teachers and some of the operating expenses such as heat, lights, etc. But our school needs are definitely more. We need science lab equipment, computers and printers, a sound system, balls and equipment for our sports teams. The list goes on and on with limited places to receive monies. If we all can back some of the fundraising we will come together to realize the great plans that God has for this school. If there are any questions or if you are able to volunteer to help that day, please contact me (Grant Long) on my cell at 540-449-6009, or home at 540-3816009.

Kroger Cares Reward Program Did you know that Pathway raises about $450 a month from the Kroger Cares gift card program? As part of our Smart Shopping initiative, we are members of the Kroger Cares gift card program. If you shop at a Kroger store, please consider shopping with a Kroger gift card issued by Pathway. Shoppers can preload their gift cards at the checkout lane and use the gift card to pay for groceries and gas. You still earn your Kroger gas points and all the other Kroger benefits. By using a Pathway issued gift card, Kroger contributes 5%. Do you want to direct the money that you earn for Pathway? This year we are giving families the option to designate the money that they raise through the Kroger Cares program to any combination of the following options: general fund, sports, music/ drama, art and science. If you do not provide a designation, your funds will automatically be credited to the general fund. Do you want to participate in the Kroger Cares program or designate your card? Please complete the designation form available by email or at the school office. Completed forms should be returned to the school office. Note that cards are tracked by serial number, not family names. Please contact Kathy Williams at [email protected] if you have any questions or if you would like to receive the designation form by email.

ALERT NOW!!! ALERT NOW!! is the mass communication system that Pathway uses to notify all families, faculty and staff of situations that require your immediate attention. Please note: if you see the number 800-411-0000 on your cell phone, home phone, or work phone, ANSWER IT. It is ALERT NOW!! Do not ignore these calls. If you change ANY phone numbers during the school year, PLEASE notify the office. It is very important to keep all contact information up-todate.

PATHWAY EMAIL Are you receiving Pathway email? Several important an-

nouncements have been distributed through our Pathway email accounts since the start of classes. If you have not seen the announcements about Box Tops for Education, the Kroger Cares program, or The Christmas Fair, then you are not receiving email properly! Please contact Andrea Muscatello at [email protected] or 540-239-0325 immediately to help determine the cause for your disconnect. The Pathway Email Address book was distributed last week (via email, of course). The address book will direct you to how to contact Pathway families and staff. Please make certain that you receive a copy of the book!
