About the College… The Karpagam charity trust was promoted by Dr.R.Vasantha Kumar, Chairman and Managing trustee, in 1989, with a mission to instill originality in the learning minds and impart strength and efficiency, by giving quality, value - based education, motivating skills and creativity with innovative selective knowledge, for the purpose of rendering unique products to serve and then lead the society and bring perfection in entirety which projects our vision. Karpagam College of Engineering was started in 2000 and got Autonomous status during 2007- 2008. It is an institution with an enterprising management, which directs all its efforts towards producing proficient products who are trained to tower in knowledge and character. The college, marching on its journey towards its excellence in entirety has organized a number of Seminars and Workshops. Karpagam College of Engineering offers B.E in ECE,EEE,CSE,CIVIL,EIE,MECH and B.Tech Degree in IT. Also, B.Sc degree in Computer Technology and Information Technology are offered. At Post graduate level, MBA and MCA are offered. About the Department … The Mechanical Engineering Department has been a repository of knowledge at the very outset with the backing of efficient and specialized faculty. The department was accredited by NBA during 2007. The department is organizing chain of technical events to uplift the knowledge back up of students. Also, International conference (ISCO) was organized for the past five years with eminent professors around the world in virtue of bringing education and research in various areas.
About the program… Engineering Graphics is the language of Engineers. Teaching Engineering Graphics has undergone many changes T-squares were used earlier and then Mini drafters were used and now computers are used.

Anna University, Coimbatore has evolved an excellent syllabus for Engineering Graphics to suit the present day Engineering graduates. The Programme will train the faculty to teach the Engineering Graphics as per the Anna University, Coimbatore syllabus. Faculty will be given intensive training in Solidworks, a modern software to prepare 2D and 3D drawings. Topics
to be covered.. Basics of Engineering Graphics Free Hand Sketching Projections of points and lines Projections of solids Orthographic Projections Development of surfaces Features of Solidworks 2D modeling using Solidworks 3D modeling
