The Wonderful New Life is in you By Pastor Alberto J. Rendon

Life is meaningful. It is a wonderful thing we had; unless you understand the real meaning of life you will not enjoy the reality of it and your life would be meaningless. This New Life is so very important to God. This is the life that God desires that all people should have. This life is so very precious that it is paid by the death of the Lord Jesus Christ. What is this New Life? Some believe it is a new religion, some believe it is a life being changed from bad habits into good habits, some believe that it is a life saved from accidents and sickness and others believe that it is a life that has been fulfilled the New Year’s resolution.

You are maybe wondering about New Life. I will have to explain here and I hope that you can understand the Biblical New Life which is the most important thing here on earth. The Bible says; Acts 5:20 “Go, stand in the temple courts," he said, "and tell the people the full message of this new life." The Bible declares that there is a New Life that we must tell the people the full message of it. This means that this New Life is very important, because we are commanded to let the people know what it is. Many people do not understand the Biblical New Life and if you are one of them, please take time to read this article and I pray that you will be enlightened. I will begin with these questions: What is Biblical New Life means, who has it, who gives it and how to have it? These are the questions that we must find the answers. Ignorance to the answers of these questions would make you wonder the real meaning of life.

Notice: None of the above answers and beliefs is correct. You may have a nice religion but do not have this New Life. You may have changed your bad habits into good habits and still you do not have this New Life. You maybe are saved from death, sickness and accident but you still do not have this New Life. And you may have fulfilled the New Year’s resolution in a long period of time and you still do not have this New Life. What is this New Life? New Life is called in the Bible “Eternal Life.” In John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”(NIV) The Bible says, whoever believes on the Son of God shall not perish but have eternal life. Take note. Eternal life is not our human life; eternal life is not long life but life without end. This is the New Life in the Bible. Who has this new life? The answer is, those already have the temporal life; a man of sin who is still alive. A living man has this life the human life a temporal life. In order for a man who already has the temporal life to receive the Eternal life he must believe on Him (Jesus Christ.) In other words, if a man who already believed on the only begotten Son of God has already received eternal life. 1 John 5:12-13 supports it, you can read it below. If a man already has received the eternal life, it means he has another life in him that is eternal and this is the New Life. That is what New Life means in the Bible. New Life is also called in the Bible “Spiritual Life.” “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit...“ John 3:6

The old life is born of the flesh, which is the human life the old life, a temporal life. But that is born of the spirit is “Spirit” is what the bible says. It is clear that the life that is born in the flesh is flesh which means the old life we had. But that what is born in the spirit is spirit which it means Spiritual life and that is the New Life. Notice; both life, the old and the new has its beginning and its beginning is being born. The Bible says that which is BORN of the flesh is flesh – human life or natural life and that which is BORN of the Spirit is spirit. The old life is being born in the flesh and the same way the Spiritual Life/New Life is being born in the Spirit, in other words a life that is new.

Page 2 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13

In order that a life should be in existence, it must be first be born. Those who are born again in the spirit are born of God, and that kind of life is not like that which is born of the flesh or born of blood and or born of the will of man but born of God and this is called the New Life.

Many people believe that this New Life is received after the death of the old life – physical death, which means New Life or Eternal Life is received after we die. That is why many people pray for the dead that say “Lord give Him (the dead) eternal life.” Of whom the Bible says about who has this New Life? In 1 John 5:12-13 it says. “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

According to what is written in the Bible, “…He that has the son has Life.” What is this life? Simple; it is not the human life the old life but it is the New Life. It is because many people who do not have the son but still they have the life the old life. So the life here indicates the New Life that is given to those who has the Son. In verse 13, it says, “...These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life “

Who already have this eternal life? The correct answer is those who believe on the name of the Son of God the Lord Jesus Christ. Are they still alive physically? Of course! It was not written to the dead but to the people who are still alive? If we say to the dead it makes no sense. The dead cannot read a letter of John. John wrote this letter to those physically alive and the same time spiritually alive “… that they may know that they have eternal life.” In 1 John 5:11 “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.”

It is God who gave the New Life or eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ and it is already given (past tense) to those who has the Son. Again in verse 13, it says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”

New Life or Eternal Life and is also called Spiritual Life is already given by God to those who believed on the name of the Son of God.

The New Life is the one which is born of God in you. The old life is the one which is born of the human will, which is our human or temporal life. To become a child of God it is necessary to believe on the name of the Son of God the Lord Jesus Christ. When you believed, God will give you the power to be born in the spirit and when you are being born in the spirit you now become a child of God.

Do you believe on the name of Jesus Christ? Did you receive him as the only way to have this New Life? Well, if so, you have this New Life in you. The God kind of life which is eternal or spiritual life, it is the gift of God. Romans 6:23; ”For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” If you are not sure that Jesus Christ is God’s way or your source of Eternal Life or New Life and or your personal savior and Lord, you can pray with this prayer guide, and please do it prayerfully. Father God Almighty. I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. I come to you with all the sins I've committed. I admit I am a sinner.

New Life Christian Church is blessed by the Lord in many ways. We always give God the glory and honor. It is by His grace that we are blessed. Praise to His glorious name! As body of Christ as the church every true believer of the Gospel of Christ is a part of this work of God. We will go on for the mission of preaching the Gospel to let the people the message of Life.

Challenges are God’s way of making us strong, which brings us to the higher level of our faith that will result to the praise and glory to God. As a child of God, we must not forget that all things work together for good. Our Father has given us the spirit of power, love and sound of mind. His peace is in us, His grace is always sufficient, we have a sure hope that does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. Therefore, we can say He turned my mourning into dancing and our sorrows into joy.

1 Pet. 3: 9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. “

Out commitment must be to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission of our Great GOD. We are committed to serve God, for the Church and for the people because we are determine to glorify God in our lives. It is our pleasure to know of the brethren who continually support the ministry of the Lord that we are doing. I believe the Lord will reward those who diligently seek his will. We see our labor in the Lord is not vain. How happy we are to see the fruits of our labor. As the brethren, the adults, youth and children are praising God, we can remember that our labor in the past is not in vain. Your faithfulness remains as legacy to your children and even to your children of your children’s children. Faithfulness is not hard when we are committed.

We are reminded by the word of God, that we must be always joyful even in the midst of trials, fiery trials because He is with us, although we walk in the valley of the shadow of death, no fear of evil for He is with us. What a wonderful promise of God. Just walk in the direction of God for it leads to life, make his word as a lamp to your feet and a light your path. You will never be disappointed under God’s leading; he will not put you to same for His name sake that is why you are more than victorious in Christ Jesus. Shout Hallelujah and praise the Lord! Blessings.

ANG KALUWASAN By Pastor Alberto Rendon

Ano Bala Ang Kaluwasan?

bugay, wala sing bayad libre o kon regalo sang Dios.

Salvation by Faith Alone By Pastor Alberto Rendon

James 2:14-17 “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” KJV

Page 5

Salvation is received by believing that God by His grace He saved us. It is not believing in God but believing of what He has done for us through Jesus Christ, that He died, buried and rose again. The object of faith for our salvation is not that we believe that God is existing, God is powerful, He created the universe, but by what He has done for our salvation (Titus 3:4-7). But of course, we must believe in God first or else we will not believe of what He has done for our salvation. Obviously you can also believe in God but you will not believe of what He has done for us. In fact other religions believe in God but do not believe of what God has done for us through our Lord Jesus Christ for our salvation.

The issue in these verses seems that faith plus good works If believing in God can save us, Jesus Christ would not be born will result salvation. These are the verses that many believe that and died for our salvation, no need, because before Christ only salvation is not received by faith alone. If we fail to understand foolish do not believe in God. The Jews before Christ were very about salvation these verses will devoted in believing in God, the other convince us that faith alone cannot religious people were also very devoted The works of faith which is based on receive salvation. Many cannot in God. Why must Jesus come to save believing in God is not the same works of solve this problem unless they see us? Because Faith in God is not the faith which is based on the finished work of the points of James here. basis of our salvation.

The point of the Apostle James religions believe in God but their works are The works of faith which is based on here is who really have real faith; it not the same of the one who believed in believing in God is not the same works means a genuine faith or faith from Jesus Christ as Savior. of faith which is based on the finished the heart. We must be careful in work of Jesus Christ for our salvation. our interpretation of the Bible. If The Muslims, Judaism, and other religions believe in God but their James meant that salvation is earned by faith plus works, he will works are not the same of the one who believed in Jesus Christ as contradict all other Epistles especially Apostle Paul who taught Savior. In other words James was looking the works of a genuine that Faith alone can earned salvation. believer as proofs of the real faith on what God has done for our salvation. If James was led by the Holy Spirit he does not mean that salvation is earned by faith and works. James here was looking In the time of James he saw and heard many people who called for a real faith –a living faith that bears fruits of good works, them selves Christians or believers but has no proofs of works. He because he knew that real faith will have works. questioned and rebuked those who professed they are believers of We can understand in the context because he considered that Christ but no proofs of works. faith without works is dead, but it does not mean that salvation is received by faith and good works. What he meant to say here is We do not say that faith is enough and no more. Faith should have that dead faith cannot save, because at first he said “What good works. Professed faith without proofs of good works is not real is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no faith. I am talking faith on the finished work of God through Jesus deeds?” He pointed out that, that kind of faith cannot really Christ for our salvation. James was looking that kind of works of receive salvation. He added “Can such faith save him?” (James faith that based of what God has done for our salvation. 2:14) NIV. James was not looking the works of faith in God. In fact, during James was looking a genuine faith and by works genuine faith is his time he saw many religious Jewish people who have many proven. It is clear what he said that faith which is not genuine good works produced by their faith in God and that kind of faith is cannot receive salvation. He was looking a genuine faith that is still genuine faith, it still produces good works but it was faith in alive and the result of that faith is salvation and good works. God that does not the basis to receive salvation because it is not faith on what Jesus did for salvation. Many groups of Christians The other point James meant to say here is Faith in God cannot today have this kind of faith. really save anyone. It is not faith in God that can save us. He said in verse 19 of the same chapter, that the demons believe there is a God. In other words the demons believe in God, but it has no good works accompany of that faith. James here is telling that there are two kinds of faith, the dead faith – without works like of the demons and the real Faith /a living faith – that produces good works. But what we see here is faith in God cannot and will not save even if it produces good works, if we believe that there is a God who created the universe that is good but it is not the basis of our salvation.

We should also produce the works of our faith in God according to the New Testament pattern, not just the works of our faith on the finished work of God for our salvation. We do not meant that we will not believe in God and no need of good works of believing in God according to the New Testament pattern, they are also important but they are not required for our salvation. If works are required for salvation after you believe the question that is very difficult to answer and I am sure only few can answer correctly. Next Page

The HERALD

Page 6

The question is, HOW MANY WORKS SHOULD WE DO TO RECEIVE SALVATION? No one can point out and take Bible verses to give a number of works we should do in order to be saved. If we say ten good works or seven that means after we have faith we have to complete all of them in order to get saved, and then if we have completed the nine or six and we die, still we are not saved. Some say it is two, faith and baptism. It is also the same, that before someone is baptized then he died still he is not saved.

We have already received salvation, but we are to work out or continue to show the proofs of good works. Logically, you cannot work out of a thing you do not have or else we have to say work out FOR IT. Paul did not say work out FOR YOUR OWN SALVATION but work out your own salvation.

There is no number of rules to follow in the New Testament to produce good works in order to get saved but only faith, genuine faith. If there is a number of a rule to do to get saved, no one can be saved. Because James also said that if we commit one of the other rules we broke all.

The problem is many people do not understand about salvation in general. They think that salvation is earned by good works because we will receive salvation after we die, not now. The truth is salvation is received at the point of faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

James 2:10 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.”

What Salvation we received at the point of genuine Faith? The Bible is very clear that salvation is at the point of faith.

Salvation Is Already Given And Can Be Received By Faith

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through If God basis our salvation by faith and good works it would faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: means that salvation has different levels. Those who did many Not of works, lest any man good works will receive the best should boast.”KJV “For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard salvation and those who only did you, and in the day of salvation I helped few, not good salvation. That is The Bible says for by grace are ye you." I tell you, now is the time of God's why salvation is received by saved through faith, this means God favor, now is the day of salvation.” genuine faith alone because of the saved us by His grace, He did it 1 Corinthians 6:2 NIV grace of God. through our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul was writing to the believers in the I believe genuine faith is not alone, church at Ephesus that they are already saved, PAST TENSE, to the extent it produces good works, but salvation does not they had already received salvation. What salvation they depend on the good works but on the faith alone. I put it on this received? Let us look at the person who is not a believer of way, Faith plus Salvation equals Good works not Faith plus Christ. In opposite, they have not received salvation, they are Good works equals Salvation. There are problems if salvation still in the bondage of sin and they are under the wrath of God. is the result of faith plus good works as we have seen above and there is one more. We believe salvation is a free gift from God, totally free, and this cannot be paid and no one can pay salvation. If salvation is the result of Faith plus Good works, salvation cannot be considered free gift, but a reward earned by faith and good works. Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:9 of The Living Bible Translation is more clearer; it says, “Salvation is not a reward for the good we have done, so none of us can take any credit for it.” James was not saying, produce works of your faith so you will be saved, but simply “Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do...” He pointed out who has the genuine faith that is proven by works. Nowhere in the Bible found a command to work for our salvation. Are we told to work out our own salvation? Phil. 2:12 “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Here we see that many people mistranslated this verse. They add for to your own salvation. Nowhere found here to work out for your salvation but work out your own salvation or work out your salvation. To better understand what it means in this verse.

John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” KJV The unbeliever or the one who do not believe the Son (Jesus Christ) two things are in his life; shall not see life (eternal life) and the wrath of God abides on him. In other words he is not saved from the wrath of God or the penalty of sin. The opposite is the believer is SAVED from the wrath of God. Therefore, Apostle Paul said “For by grace are ye SAVED through faith… not of yourselves …not of works, lest any man should boast.” What salvation we received? Salvation from the wrath of God, we are saved because we believed. Saved from what? From the wrath of God. Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Here we see that we are saved (Past Tense) from the PENALTY OF SIN. Another Salvation we are going take is we are saved (Past Tense / Present Tense) from THE POWER OF SIN and the next is to be saved (Future Tense) from the PRESENCE OF SIN.

JESUS CHRIST built His church. The Church is the believers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Wherever the Gospel is preached and is accepted, believed and followed by the people they are called Church like the churches in the Bible. JESUS’ will for His church is to grow. The Foundation of New Life Christian Church is in the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40

New Life Christian Church was fully independent and none-denominational ministries since 2003. We started with the church members and have been blessed and are going to be blessed because we serve our God who cares. God is blessing the church, ministries and activities hosted by Pastor Alberto & Isabel Rendon with their kids. The Lord has been faithful in providing our needs. We are doing the work of the Lord for His glory.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28:19-20

We are increasing in number and we continue to believe for more increase and more blessings of God as we are committed to do the work of the Lord entrusted to us. We believe blessings will follow on our faithfulness and prosperity after responsibility.

Rick Warren said, “A Great Commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a Great Church!”

We have encountered many hardships and trials but we see the hands of God on us giving the strength to go on.

Five Purposes of the Church based on these:

1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Worship – Love the Lord with all your heart. Ministry – Love your neighbor as yourself. Evangelism – Go. Fellowship – Baptizing them. Discipleship – Teaching them to obey.

We are now still in the process of registering the ministry in the Security and Exchange Commission Philippines. We attempted many times to register but it was not yet permitted by the Lord for maybe He has good reasons.
