Annexure 4: Profile of Chief Functionary and Secretary of Grama Siri The chief functionary and secretary of Grama Siri is Mr. A.L Narsimhan Murthy. He has rich experience in microfinance activities. Prior to Grama Siri, he worked in the Khadi Village Industries Scheme of Government of Madras. He joined the Intensive Khadi Scheme of the Government of Madras as Khadi Worker in 1953. After the organisation was transferred to the Government of India in 1957, he worked as sales depot manager at Kakinada till 1969 and as a godown manager and sales organizer till 1972. Thus, he had been associated with rural people like spinners, weavers, artisans & freedom fighters. In 1977, Mr. A.L Narsimhan Murthy came to Baptala to work for the relief and rehabilitation work after the cyclone has hit the coastal belts of Guntur. Thereafter, remained back in the area and work to make socio- economic development of the region. He has attended many camps for capacity building and development. He received salesmanship training at Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan in Bombay in 1957, sponsorship training in 1983 in Bangalore, leadership training, at Hyderabad in 1985, bio-gas technology training in 1995 in china and number of workshops in various places under rural & tribal development He is a former member of District Committee JFM, NCLP, Malaria Eradication Committee, Health and Family Welfare Committee, District Blindness Control Society. Presently, he is executive member in Andhra Pradesh Disaster Mitigation Resource Institution, Vijaywada. Also, he is the vice patron of the Indian red cross society, Raj Bhawan , Hyderabad , Andhra Pradesh.

Annexure 5: Profile of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Star Microfin Service Society (SMSS) The chief operating officer and the managing director of the Star Microfin Service Society (SMSS) is Mr. S.C Hassain. He is founder member and chief functionary. As a youth, he has involved in number of youth activities of NYK and NSS. He completed his research work as UGC Research Fellow at SV University during 1988-93. He has taught Population Studies at Local Degree College during 1984-88. He continues to serve on the Board as Secretary & CEO since 1993. He has attended more than 40 development trainings and exposures in the areas of PRA Methodology, SHGs Management, micro finance, micro insurance, dalit human rights, gender equality, sexual health, joint forest management, natural resources management, environmental auditing and waste minimization and so on

He is long been involved as consultant in the participatory

poverty assessments in both urban and rural areas. He has undergone more than 30 development trainings in the areas of PRA Methodology, Community Forest Management, Credit Usage and Delivery, Composite Credit Mechanism, Integrated Approaches to Sustainable Community Development Planning & Management of SelfEmployment Schemes for Youth and Women, Sexual Health, Child Labour, Urban Poverty Assessment, Financial Management, and so on
