Organelle AD-venture: Cells Sell Congratulations! You and partner have received a request from the advertising firm of Landon and Lyons to create a new marketing idea for a brand new client, Cellular Progressions. Task Both plant and animal cells are very complex. Your task will be to prepare an advertising sample for the partners at Landon and Lyons. In completing this task you will understand how a cell functions by developing a commercial which "sells" a selected organelle from a plant or animal cell. Process 1. First step is to get into groups of two. 2. Each group will be assigned a specific organelle to research. 3. Next, each partner in a group will choose a specific role that he or she would like to play in the making of a commercial. 4. Each role must complete their requirements. 5. After each role has completed the requirements, the team must bring all ideas together in a PowerPoint presentation of an organelle commercial advertisement to present in the board room. 6. The commercial should be 3-5 minutes long. 7. Commercials should be an advertisement for your organelle. 8. Commercials should be creative and interesting. 9. Commercials should make reference to the following:  The organelle's name  The organelle's function and how it works with other cell parts to function correctly  Is the organelle part of an animal or plant cell or both?  What about your organelle's function would you consider makes it more important than other organelles? Team Roles Commercial Research Analyst Research the following about your group's organelle:  Where is it located within the cell?  Is it found within a plant cell, animal cell, or both?  How does its function work with other organelles to ensure cell growth?  What is the exact function of your group's organelle?  What makes this organelle better than other organelles? Commercial Graphic Designer and Advertising Specialist

The commercial graphic designer is required to gather all organelle information and display this information as a Power Point slide show. Gather all group member information and also group member graphic ideas. **Each group member is required to be part of the presentation. During the presentation, each group member should take turns operating the slide show on the computer.
