After puncturing the skin with their mouthparts and feeding on blood, mosquitoes leave hard, itchy bumps. In the blood-feeding process, mosquitoes inject saliva into their host which creates the reactions that cause bite symptoms. Most mosquito bites are harmless and the symptoms subside in a few days. Some discomforting symptoms include swelling of the bite site, soreness, and bleeding. While mosquitoes are an itchy, uncomfortable nuisance, the important problem arising from mosquito bites is transmission of viral or parasitic diseases. It can be treatable of medicine in the Philippine but not all of medicine can treated the viruses of mosquito. Some medicine have contain a chemical that can trigger your allergy if you have and some are made of organic material like chili, clove of garlic, tomato leaves, etc… we of our group are think what other organic materials that can be an insecticides we thought oregano oil because the smell of oregano extract is do like of mosquito it has a strong smell that can wipe out all mosquito in your house. We conduct the research about insect repellant to help the Pilipino people in reducing of population of mosquito. One of the largest problems in the

Philippines is the lack of sanitationed improper anti-bacteria. Although most bacteria/monerans are beneficial,a fraction of them are carriers of sicknesses and are the major cause of skin ailments. Because a mosquito coil made up from natural mosquito repelling plants will remove the health problems caused by mosquito repellents.Oregano are easy to find very common and also if this project succeed this can country’s natural resources.

II.Statement of the Problem This study wants to investigate if the Oregano extract used as insect repellent.Specifically,it aims to answer these questions: 1. Can oregano extract will be effective insect repellent? 2. Can oregano extract 100% works effectively? 3. It can be a alternative for insect repellent?

III. Hypothesis Ho (Null Hypothesis) There is no significance possibility that oregano oils used as insect repellent. Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) There is a significance possibility that oregano oils used as insect repellent. IV. Scope and Limitation of the Study This study is only to determine the effectiveness of oregano extract used as insect repellent and to help Filipino people that can afford a expensive insect repellent because it is affordable if you have oregano plants you can do a homemade insect repellent

V. Significance of the Study The research thought that if this study would be successful,it would be able to help the community in cared for by animals.From insects,most especially form mosquitoes,also in way that it would be natural.Oregano is effective because it is versatile.Also because it can easily be found in the neighbourhood,so there would be no need for families,especially those less fortunate,to use money that can be used instead for food or other necessities.

CHAPTER 3 METHODOLOGY Materials a. 100ml of oregano oil b. 100ml of water c. 2 tbsp of sugar d. 1 Empty spray bottle

Procedures 1. First you need to prepare all the materials that needed in the experiments. 2. Put 100ml oregano extract in the empty spray bottle. 3. Put 100ml water in the same bottle. 4. Mix the water and the oregano oil. 5. Add the 2 tbsp of sugar.
