Aunt Sally is a reflection of life and nature.
Rain naturally falls in a downward motion.
Solve the problem in a downward motion. Rain never falls upward.
The upper most has the highest priority, so handle high priority first.
What are you going to do first, mow the lawn or extinguish the fire that is on the kitchen curtain?
Steps
Start at “Parenthesis” and work DOWNWARDS to “Add” or “Subtract”. Never work UPWARDS. Once you are done, you should have a problem that is less difficult than the original problem. Go back to “Parenthesis” and start the process over again– like a circuit. Continue this process until you have only ONE number.
