Collar making and attachment is one of the critical operation, it takes more time due to interlining and number of stitches involved in it. Thread – if good quality of thread is not used than it will lead to more breakdown. Needle – if high quality of stainless steel is not used than it will lead to more breakdowns. Button hole and button stitching takes more time. Moving of semi-finished shirt from one sewing machine to another, from one operation to another takes more time. Worker being flooded with overload of work would not able to complete the operation. Improper tensions leads to puckering.
Suggestion • • • • • •
Thread to be used should be 2 ply yarns with good strength. The needle used should be high strength steel. Tensioning device should be maintained and oiled properly. The temperature during should be maintained properly according to fabric. Fabric fastness properties should be considered before washing. Button should be attached after washing in order to make washing easy.
