Therefore it is important for us to develop our mentoring efforts so they will be lasting. With Youth-- Living Honestly - Honest to God and One Another Communication --Scott Volltrauer, TreeHouse--We encourage our students to trust us, to communicate honestly. Most people project a public self cultivated to impress and cover up flaws. Discuss principles to create honest-to-God and one-another relationships. With Adults--Effective Use of Mentoring Relationships with Adults--Walt McFadden, Central Community Church--Hear our story on how we made a shift from small groups to one-on-one mentoring with our adults. Discover how we made that decision and how it has worked for the adults in our medium-sized church.

With Children--A Mentor's Guide to Building a Lasting Relationship--Dan Johnson, Kinship--Do's and don'ts of a successful relationship, including realistic expectations and boundaries. With Youth--Living Dangerously: Giving Your Students the Tools to Survive--As mentors we desire to challenge our students to step out of their comfort zone; to live dangerously for Christ. Learn to give them some tools to connect with each other and to Jesus Himself...tools that will enable them to climb the mountains they find themselves on and to safely reach their peak. With Adults--Mentoring With Adults Today --Timothy Johnson, MCMA--A survey of some of the ways churches in Minnesota are doing mentoring with adults. A range of practical ideas and foundational philosophy will be explored.
