O’s Personal Narrative Original Narrative Before Conference 2/21/2017

“No, it’s back there!” Alena and I shouted to our Dad. It was a perfect August day that couldn’t get better. My family, Alena my twin sister, Caden my brother, and my Mom and Dad,were going to get our new dog. It was August 30th, 2015. We were in Ankeny, Iowa to get a charcoal lab at a dog breeder called Pinyan’s Labs. We were about to enjoy Harley Cabella Kinnick Brimeyer. I was so excited when I saw a trailer that said Pinyan’s Labs. We drove back to the house that had the trailer. When we drove up and got out my Dad knocked on the door. A young man, the breeder, came out and we told him we wanted to look at the dogs. When we got in the trailer which had a puppy smell in it, we saw to female puppies that we put on hold to chose. They were soooo cute. “How old are they,” my Dad asked. “Nine weeks,” said the breeder. I couldn’t help it any more so I said, “Can I pick one up?” “Yes,” he said. I picked up the bigger, more playful puppy and cuddled with it. The breeder then asked if we had a name for it. “Yes, Harley,” said my Dad. Alena decided to call the shy puppy Corner Girl. After we went through the papers we adopted the bigger puppy. We were going to start our ride home when Mom said, “put this on your lap if she’s sitting on you.” We called it the puke skirt. For a bit Harley sat on the floor. But I was the first person to have her on my lap. We took turns having Harley on our lap with the puke skirt. After a while we took a break and parked at some sort of market and got Harley out so Dad gave her a drink of water with a water bottle. We got in the car went off again. When we got home it was a little dark. We went in for a bit and gave Harley food and water. Then we went back outside and our neighbors, Jack and Jared Krow, came out. We ran around our house for a long time letting Harley chase us. At that time Harley was slower than us. At bedtime Harley was put in our bathroom and we slept outside the room. So that is the story of Harley Cabela Kinnick Brimeyer. You’re probably wondering why we named her that. Harley, beleive it or not was from a stuffed animal. Cabella could have been her name. Kinnick because we got her on a day that the Hawks played. Narrative During Conference 2/21/2017 “No, it’s back there!” Alena and I shouted to our Dad. My life would never have been the same if we didn’t get Harley. Personal Narrative Final Draft 3/7/2017 “No, it’s back there!” Alena and I shouted to our Dad.
