The partners are helping increase students' understanding of how the Earth functions as a system and how NASA research is protecting the planet's air, land and water resources. Students can learn the real science behind the recently released Pokémon TCG called EX Emerald. In EX Emerald, Pokémon representing Earth, air and water engage in epic battles and redistribute the balance of power in their universe. Posted on NASA's Kids Science News Network (KSNN) Web site, interactive activities are accessible to students and teachers. The fun activities teach them about Earth, environmental issues and events, including climate change, the ozone layer, remote sensing, rains, floods and tides. NASA's education programs inspire and motivate students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by supporting activities in the nation's schools and distributing information through instructional and outreach products. The NASA, Pokémon TCG collaboration incorporates science, technology, engineering and math into fun activity units for kindergarten through grade 6 students. The first collaboration involved learning activities about deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
