[Official Key Club Rules] Becoming a Member: 1. Come to a meeting and write your name on the sign-up sheet 2. Have a parent/guardian to sign the permission slip 3. If you’d like to become an official member, you have to pay “International Dues” which costs $11. Where does your money go? Here’s an official breakdown: • Key Club Magazine 31.51% • Literature & General Meetings 20.96% • Membership forms, cards, stationary, & copying 18.65% • International Training Conferences 12.75% • Convention planning, promotions, & site selection 5.63% • Alumni Development 4.45% • Major Emphasis Program 4.15% • Club & District awards, scholarships, & YOF 1.86% • Staff Assistance 0.04% 4. To make the early bird date(and help the club), pay your international dues by OCTOBER 7, 2008. The deadline for International dues is OCTOBER 21, 2008 5. Bottom line: If you don’t pay your dues ON TIME, you are not considered a Kiwanis International member & you will not participate in the initiation ceremony. HOWEVER, your name will still be listed on our Key Club roster & you are free to participate in any Key Club events. Monthly Dues: 1. You are obligated to pay $2 every month. These dues go into the club account. This money is used for fundraisers, service projects, and snacks. 2. You can pay all club dues up front ($16) OR pay $2 every month. If you choose to pay up front, you will get one month off and a lollipop. 3. UNPAID MONTHLY DUES ROLL OVER. Failure to pay monthly dues results in a written warning (1st offense) and then a nomination to take your name off the roster (2 nd offense) Money Policies: 1. all money must be directly turned in to Mr. Covey during the meeting or at North Point. 2. Outside fundraising is due by the next school day

3. This means nobody else BUT Mr.Covey should be handling your money! 4. If you absolutely need help with paying dues, or any other payments, please see any of the officers in private. We’ll let Kiwanis know, and they’ll pay for it. We’ve got you covered. Attendance Policy: 1. Tardiness will not be tolerated. Please arrive on time 2. Members must attend at least 2 meetings per month, unless you have a valid reason. 3. Valid reasons: extracurricular activities, family matters, and sickness Transportation: 1. You must be picked up by 4:15 p.m., unless you are riding the activity bus. 2. If you are riding the activity bus, make sure to get an activity buss pass, or you will NOT be able to ride the bus. 3. If you are not picked up by 4:15 p.m., your name will be nominated to be taken off the roster. 4. If you are not being picked up by your parent/guardian, you MUST have a note from your parents and the person picking you up. The note must contain phone numbers from bath parties and a written statement acknowledging the transportation setup. 5. The only people that are allowed to pick you up are the ones listed on your permission slip. Key Club Sponsored Events: 1. you may sign up for any event you want (make sure to keep track of the # of hours you have completed) 2. make sure to sign and turn in the permission slip, or you CAN NOT participate in the event 3. Members must participate in at least 75% of all possible hours by the end of the year 4. Make sure your ride knows where and when to drop you off and pick you up. Don’t have a ride? Ask around and see if you can carpool with somebody. Just don’t forget to get a note!
