Dear Candidate, Sub : ‘Appointment Letter’ Congratulations, Welcome to the world of Nehru Peace Foundation. With reference to your application and subsequent interview, we are pleased to appoint you as “Social Worker” in NPF. Your position shall be based in our office at Ernakulam and your joining date will not be later than 7th may 2009.

TRAINING PERIOD Your training with NPF will commence on 7th may 2009 and shall end on the close of shift hours on 18th may 2009 or it can be extended depending on our training schedule. On successful completion of training period you will automatically enter into probation period of 2 months.

PROBATION & CONFIRMATION You will be on probation for a period of 2 months from the date of appointment. In the event of you not being able to attain the standards required for confirmation of your services, this period of probation may be extended by the Management at its discretion. The continuation of this appointment shall be subject to the successful completion of the training and assessments. On Completion of the probation period to the satisfaction of the Management, the Management will confirm your appointment expressly in writing. Your services are liable to be terminated by the Management at any time during your probation period, including the extended period of probation, if any, by giving a notice of 24 hours and without any payment or compensation in lieu of notice and without assigning any reason thereof. Subsequent to your confirmation, your employment can be terminated by giving one month’s notice from either side, except where your employment is terminated for disciplinary reason in which case, the organization is at liberty to terminate your employment without notice or payments in lieu thereof in accordance with organization policy.

MINIMUM PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT The organization will be investing substantially in you, through an elaborate period of training so as to skill you for the job. A minimum period of productive utilization of the skills is mandatory. You are hence required to commit to a period of 3 months of service from the date of joining.

SALARY, ALLOWANCES AND PERQUISITED 1)

After the probation period of 2 months, you will be issued a detailed confirmation letter with an annual salary of Rs. 1,44,000 (Rupees One Lakh Forty four thousand only), and a joining bonus of Rs. 5,000 (Rupees Five thousand only). During your probation period of two months you will be entitled to get full salary of Rs. 12,000, which will be paid only after the end of probation period.

2) Apart from the monthly salary and joining bonus you will be entitled to get an honorarium of Rs. 5,000 which will be paid every 2 months. 3) During your training with us, you will be provided a BSNL - NPF Sim card, which can be used unlimited. All charges will be paid by NPF. 4) Accommodation allowance will be provided to social workers, posted outside their native place. CODE OF CONDUCT NPF prides itself as an organization with the highest order of ethical conduct in its dealings with the weaker section of the society especially the poor students. As part of your employment, it is important that you fully understand this philosophy and policies governing it. As an NPF employee, you will be governed by the rules and regulations applicable and are advised to follow the instructions as informed to you from time to time. OVERSEAS APPOINTMENT Subject to the discretion of the organization you shall not refuse to take up any assignment that may be offered to you by the organization and you may required to work at the site (s) or locations of the organization in India and / or abroad, sometimes for extended periods of time as may be decided by the organization from time to time. You shall be expected to exercise your specialized expertise and judgment to provide the organization with high quality services. PAST RECORD If any declaration of information furnished by you to the organization proves to be false or if you are found to have willfully suppressed any material information you will be liable to immediate dismissal without any notice or compensation whatsoever.

EMPLOYEE UNDERTAKING You will be required to execute an employee undertaking as a part of the terms and conditions of your employment with the organization.

NON SOLICITATION You also undertake that during the course of your employment with NPF, you shall not induce or attempt to induce any person employed by NPF to leave his/ her employment with NPF, directly or indirectly, whether or not this would be a breach of such employee’s employment contact. To indicate your acceptance of the offer, please sign and date the duplicate of this letter in the space provided below and return one copy to the undersigned at the time of training. The original may be retained for your records. This letter, executed by you, sets forth the terms of your employment with the organization and supersedes any prior representations or agreements, whether written or oral. This letter may not be modified or amended except by a written agreement, signed by an authorized officer of the organization.
