The city of rain



Facts

Bergen is located in the county of Hordaland on the south-western coast of Norway. Its city centre is situated among a group of mountains known as "De syv fjell" (lit. The Seven Mountains) Norway’s second largest city Population 252 051 Area 465 km2 213 days of rainfall pr year 



Business

Europe’s third largest harbour, more than 50% of the norwegian freight shipping making it the most important in all of Norway. The management of over 50% of Statoil Hydro’s base is being executed in Bergen. In the field of marinebiology, underwatertech nology, oceanography, administration of marine resources and climate research the region of Bergen has taken a world leading role. 



Culture Bergen is an important cultural  center in its region and was one  of nine European cities honored  with the title of  European Capital of Culture in  2000.[5]



Bergen International Festival. Largest of it’s kind in the Nordic countries, with more than 150 events in 15 days. Music, litterature, theatre, dance, opera and visual art.

The Ulriken643 Panoramic Tour takes you by cable car to the highest of Bergen’s famous Seven Mountains.



Fløibanen, the funicular railway takes you to the top of Mount Fløyen in 8 minutes
