Newspaper Comparison Compare 3 newspapers

PERCENTAGES
Randomly choose 5 pages from each newspaper (use RandInt on calculator). Measure the total area of one page, then measure and calculate the area of pictures and advertisements on each page. Convert your areas to percentages. Eg.

Choose a short news article on the first 5 pages. Count the length of each word and record in a frequency table as shown. Calculate the average word length of the article. Compare this to an article in the other 2 papers.
GRAPHING
Make a graph (eg. Pie or Column) showing the number of pages allocated to each different type of content (eg. News, sport, advertising, etc.)
