A Peek at the Week
Reading/Phonics: We will wrap up our learning
theme from Unit 3 and begin Unit4 “Our Neighborhood at Work”. We will introduce “r” controlled vowels spelled “er, ir, ur”, review short vowels, introduce /k/ spelled “k” and the /_ng/ sound spelled with short vowels preceding. The High Frequency Words for the week are:

Classroom News Don’t forget to purchase a yearbook! On sale now for $15 We are starting a new Book it reading log for November! Please remember to read with your child every night and sign the log! Please be sure your child gets enough sleep every night!
Language Arts/Writing: We will discuss
capitalization of important words such as the name of a state, city, month, day, and person. Math: This week we will begin a new unit and introduce the concept of finding the unknown number in a partner sequence (see the parent note from the math book) Science: This week in Science we will explore rocks.
