Grand Opening Ceremony The Grand Opening Ceremony is the biggest event of the year for Panasonic Vietnam Group as well as for PCV. After nearly 1 year, the event that we have been waiting for so long finally took place on April 5, 2007. Attending the Grand Opening Ceremony, we had VIP guests from the Ministry of Industry, Hanoi People’s Committee, Department of Taxation, Hoa Lac Hitech industrial zone, Vietnam Chamber of

Commerce and Industry, Japan Embassy …and the leading executive officer from Matsushita Electric Industrial Corporation and Panasonic Communication Company. . This event drew the attention of government and mass media. In the afternoon of April 05, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung had a meeting with Mr. Nakamura - Former chairman of MEI to discuss the opportunities of investment in Vietnam. The biggest newspapers of Vietnam such as Vietnam News, The Saigon Times, Hanoi Moi, Nhan Dan, Vietnam Investment Review,

Planting ceremony

In his speech, Mr. Nakamura said that by this opening ceremony Panasonic Vietnam will extend its business activities scope in Vietnam as a strategy of Matsushita corporation.

At the opening ceremony, in the press conference, we also announced the establishment of the Panasonic Research & Development Center. It was actually established at the end of March 2007. With the new R&D center, Panasonic Vietnam’s investment in Vietnam was increased to US$ 78 million. By the end of this year it is expected to be US$960 million. On this occasion, Matsushita Electric Industrial and Hanoi University of Technology have contracted a partnership for educating software engineers. Therefore, Panasonic will dispatch our engineers to Vietnam to support Vietnamese students and the students will have practice in Japan before returning in Vietnam to work. We believe that with these efforts, Panasonic Vietnam as well as PCV will have great success in the near future.

VISIT OF MR. FUJIYOSHI AT PCV The visit of Mr. Fujiyoshi was on the occasion of the Grand Opening ceremony. During that time, Mr. Fujiyoshi took the chance to visit PCV’s factory, take a factory tour, deliver a speech to all PCV’s employees and have a meeting with some key employees.

This was the 3rd time Mr. Fujiyoshi has visited Vietnam and was the first time he had a talk with PCV’s employees. He expressed the expectation of PCC on the development of PCV that PCV will be a focus of PCC together with the factories in China and the Philippines.

Job fair of Panasonic Vietnam Group The Job fair of Panasonic Vietnam Group was held two time at Hanoi University of Technology and Foreign trade University with the aim of launching Panasonic’s image and looking for new graduated candidates on 26th Mar and 15th Apr. Attending the job fair, there were so many company in Thang Long Industrial Park as well as all companies of Panasonic Vietnam Group. This was a good chance for us to select qualified candidates from Universities for our vacant positions.

Trade Union Establishment Trade Union is essential in every organization or company. For that reason, PCV organized a vote to pick up the members of Trade Union from the candidates on April 04. The elected members had a meeting in the afternoon to prepare for the ceremony of presenting the Trade Union in June 2007 and to report to HIPZA in August. Certificating Professional PBX soldering- the 2nd Time As we know, the ceremony of granting PBX professional soldering was taken place on 15th December 2006. There are 12 persons who were certified. On April 13, the 2nd ceremony of certifying professional PBX was once again granted to other production members including members of SMT line, Production line. This training and certification is to ensure good quality result of soldering on PCV’s production line.

News New assembly line for In-house Manufacturing section The first test production of the in-house manufacturing section was made on Mar 27, 2007 when we received equipment for the injection molding line. After the installation of equipment, the In-house manufacturing section is making mass production now and waiting for the approval from PCC. It is forecast that in May and June the members of the In-house manufacturing section will increase to 20 persons. .

5S AUDIT In order to evaluate the performance of our 5S activities in FY06, on the 16th of April, a 5S audit was carried out by our Management level which are the GMs of PCV’s groups. The audit was implemented totally in every section from office to factory. Below are some pictures from this audit.

New recruitment stage On the 14th of April, we held a test for the candidates of 4th recruitment stage and an interview and hand skill test on the 17th of April. The recruitment is for In-house section, Device and Production section as well.
