[email protected] FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PROFILE SPOTLIGHTS TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Mar. 4, 2009 β The School of Journalism and Mass Communication is going to publish student profiles about their summer internships. In the future, the School hopes to have a Web page that will offer information about the public relations sequence. "I believe there's an internship opportunity for every student in the public relations sequence,β said Professor Queenie Byars. βAll that is required is a resume and a little research. Our alumni and friends are always eager to help provide those opportunities and contacts." The internship profile spotlights detail what each student did during their internship, where it was, and a quote about what they felt was important. Most talk about what they learned or what they found most helpful in the program. Students can find the internships on their own, or with the help of University Career Services. "Both Jay Eubanks of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and Laura Lane in Career Services do excellent work to assist students in finding an internship in their specialty area,β said Prof. Byars about the help that UCS offers students.
