WHAT IS THE NERVOUS SYSTEM?
THE NERVOUS SYSTEM IS THE BODYS SYSTEM THAT CONTROLS SENSATION, INTERPRETATION, AND RESPONSE; INCLUDES THE BRAIN, SPINAL CORD, AND NERVES.
FLOWCHART
SOMATIC NERVOUS SYSTEM
THE SOMATIC NERVOUS SYSTEM IS THE DIVISION OF THE PNS THAT REGULATES ALL OF THE MOVEMENTS OVER WHICH YOU HAVE VOLUNTARY CONTROL.
AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM
THE AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM IS THE DIVISION OF THE PNS THAT CONTROLS AUTOMATIC FUNCTIONS THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO THINK ABOUT .
SYMPATHTIC NERVOUS SYSTEM
THE SYMPATHTIC NERVOUS SYSTEM IS THE PART OF THE AUTONOMIC NERVUOS SYSTEM THAT PREPARES THE BODY FOR ACTION AND STRESS .

NEURONS THE NERVOUS SYSTEM CONTAINS THREE KINDS OF NEURONS: 1 . SENSORY NEURONS : THESE RUN FROM THE VARIOUS TYPES OF STIMULUS RECEPTORS,TOUCH,ODOR,TASTE,SOUND,VISION 2 . INTERNEURONS : THESE ARE FOUND EXCLUSIVELY WITHIN THE SPINAL CORD AND BRAIN. THEY ARE STIMULATED BY SIGNALS REACHING THEM FROM SENSORY NEURONS OTHER INTERNEURONS OR BOTH. 3 . MOTOR NEURONS : THESE TRANSMIT IMPULSES FROM THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM TO THE MUSCLES AND GLANDS.
HOW IS THE NERVOUS SYSTEM DIFFERENT? THE NERVOUS SYSTEM IS THE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM THAT WORKS FASTER, USES ELECTRICAL SIGNALS AND IT IS ALL CONNECTED.
