Mini Bio Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in Transkei, South Africa. Nelson Mandela’s father had three wives but he was born to the third wife. His dad had thirteen children in all, four boys and nine girls. Nelson was the first child of the family to get to have education and go to school. Nelson Mandela was the first to be elected as president in full democracy in South Africa. Then, in 1993 he won the Nobel Peace Prize
Character Traits Nelson Mandela is sharing because he was born to 12 other siblings, so he had to share things together. He is also popular because his grandfather was the King of the Thembu people. He was also named as Madiba which is a title to only one person in the tribe.
Conflict Nelson Mandela went on a student’s representative council Boycott against university policies, and was told to leave his university unless he accepted election to the SRC while he was attending Fort Hare University. On 1956-1961 Nelson Mandela and 150 others were arrested on December 5,1956, and was jailed in Robben Island for 27 years.
Conflict Resolution Nelson Mandela is successful because he was the first person to be elected president in full democracy with people voting for him, all though he was jailed for 27 years. He is also successful because he won the Nobel Peace Prize in the year 1993.
