NEHEMIAH – PART 2
YOUNG ADULT CELLS NOV 2005 WEEK 3
LET’S ARISE AND BUILD TOGETHER I.
Introduction
At the end of last week lesson, we asked you to read about Sis. Lula Baird, the founder of Grace Assembly of God. Discussion: What are some spiritual lessons that you have learnt by reading about Sis. Lula Baird life?
Member’s Notes Learning Outcomes: Understanding, Attitude Objective: At the end of this lesson, you will be able to: • Learn 3 requirements of what it will take for us to build our cell together. • Commit to be involved with one another in the cell.
We are truly amazed how God can use a single person to impact so many lives. Her life demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the cause of Jesus Christ and an unfaltering trust in the Lord. Likewise, we want to look at Nehemiah and see what did it takes for the people to arise and build together. Read Neh 2:17-18. The above passage tells us how Nehemiah rallied the people together to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. It was not an easy task, but everybody was of one heart and mind to do the work. Amos 3:3 tells us that two persons can walk along together only if they had agreed to do so. In the same way, we need to be of one accord regarding what we want to build both in the YA ministry and in our cell. In previous lessons on fellowship, we have discussed some of the goals and objectives we want to see happening in our cell. Now is the time to re-visit some of those goals. Discussion What is it that we want to build in our cell? Have we improved in those areas since we last spoke about it?
Then I said to them, “You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem that we may no longer be a reproach.” And I told them how the hand of my God had been favorable to me, and also about the king’s words which he had spoken to me. Then they said, “Let us arise and build.” So they put their hands to the good work. Neh 2:17-18 Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so? Amos 3:3
What will it take for us to build the cell together? Below are three requirements of what it takes for us to arise and build together.

When I heard these things, I sat down and wept. For some days I mourned and fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. Neh 1:4 "If it pleases the king and if your servant has found favor in his sight, let him send me to the city in Judah where my fathers are buried so that I can rebuild it." Neh 2:5 …………They replied, "Let us start rebuilding." So they began this good work. Neh 2:18

So we rebuilt the wall till all of it reached half its height, for the people worked with all their heart. Neh 4:6 From that day on, half of my men did the work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah 17 who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, 18 and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me. Neh 4:16-18 Neither I nor my brothers nor my men nor the guards with me took off our clothes; each had his weapon, even when he went for water. I also told them about the gracious hand of my God upon me and what the king had said to me. Neh 2:18 I answered them by saying, "The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it." Neh 2:20

v. C o n c l u s i o n The Church can only be strong if individual cell are strong. Individual cell can only be strong if members are involved and committed. We believe that this is the time for us to arise and build the church. 50 years ago, Sis. Lula Baird came and poured forth her life so that you and I can enjoy salvation today. Will you be willing to pour forth your life so that people 50 years from now can enjoy the fruits of your life?
