To whom it may concern: I am humbled and honored to write this letter of support for Ms. Natalie Pearce as she moves toward a career in education. I enjoyed the opportunity of working with Ms. Pearce as her supervising teacher during her student-teacher experience at Boltz Middle School. There are several words that come to mind when describing Ms. Pearce, enthusiastic, self-starter, helpful, reflective, professional, and most importantly, studentoriented. In class, Ms. Pearce was willing to engage in meaningful conversation and explore myriad points of view on a host of educational topics. I always enjoyed Ms. Pearce’s candid demeanor and desire to participate fully in all facets of the teaching experience. From the beginning, Ms. Pearce showed an earnest desire to plan, develop and execute daily lessons and unit plans. It’s rare to find such a forward-thinking and motivated individual with the skills and attributes necessary to become a professional educator. She approached the experience with maturity and discipline and established herself as a leader of our class. As a member of our 7th grade team, I found Ms. Pearce to be a tremendous asset. Natalie has taken the initiative to work with several advisory (homeroom) classes, instructing a section of our AVID program as well as students in need of math support. In addition, Ms. Pearce participated in weekly team meetings and volunteered her time working with students after school in order to reteach vital reading comprehension and writing skills. Ms. Pearce is an individual who is committed to whole child education and routinely attended parent meetings and student-led conferences in an effort to establish and promote positive parent communication. Natalie Pearce’s enthusiasm for learning is integral to her maturation and preparation for a career in education. I am confident that she will continue to learn and grow and find success in any endeavor she undertakes. Ms. Pearce’s diverse life experiences, knowledge of effective pedagogical practice, organizational skills, and her collaborative demeanor are part of the tremendous skill set that Natalie Pearce brings to our public schools.
