Abstract: Hyperthermia is a physical therapy for treating cancer by exposing cancer cells and tumor tissue to high temperatures [42-46°C]. High temperature can damage and kill cancer cells, usually with minimal injury to normal tissues. Magnetic Nanoparticles can be used to produce magnetically induced heating effect which finds wide application in the field of Hyperthermia. The preference of Hyperthermia over chemotherapy and radiotherapy is due to its localized heating effect with minimal side effects in the body. One of the major challenges in cancer treatment is to eliminate cancer cells without harm and injury to normal cells. Magnetic Hyperthermia or hyperthermia using magnetic nanoparticle can realize this objective of killing only cancer cells without any damage to neighboring healthy cells by a highly localized heating technique. This paper is a discussion on the various possible applications of Fe3O4 magnetite nanoparticle in Hyperthermia for treating cancer. Corresponding author:
