Jeremy Keeshin The Story of My Name A name is more than something to call a person by. Each name holds within in it stories of the life of that person and of their struggles and achievements. The name Jeremy Bryan Keeshin is more than just what I am called, it is has stories behind it. First of all, Jeremy comes from the names of my grandparents on both sides of the family. Jerry and Jack were strong men and it is reflected in the name Jeremy. In their day they were dedicated to their occupations and to their family and that gave them integrity. Bryan was more a function of my parents’ choice, and it did not have the connotation of family history. Keeshin is the family name that has carried with it a reputation of assiduous, hard working persons, and is known by some from the Keeshin buses. Jeremy, more as its own entity, means that God will uplift, or appointed by God. These are two traits that can be connected to my life. This can be interpreted as many things and it goes right along with my Hebrew name, ‫והימרי‬, also deals with the fact that God is uplifting. This is really a look into the religious sense of the name Jeremy. Also, in the Bible, Jeremiah was a prophet, and that shows that the name is of someone who is a leader in society. Jeremy is a name full of meaning, and I feel that as each day progresses, my name is specified to my actions. One could say a name is like a shadow and it follows you wherever you go and as the days change, it changes in meaning to others around you. Many people focus on “having a good name,” or just having others around you know that when you are dealing with Jeremy, you are dealing with an upright person. So my advice is to wear your name like a medal of honor, and display everything that it means to you.
