Grade 5/6 – Banking
Summer Camp 2007
Students will learn 4 basic banking procedures: Deposit/Withdraw/Cash checks/Change money Students will learn language to conduct these banking procedures. Students will practice language through matching sentence/card game (2 versions) Students will practice performing banking procedures through a role play/survey activity.
Vocabulary
Students will participate in the role play activity as both a bank customer and a bank teller. Bank Teller, Bank customer, bank check, deposit receipt, money, Korean won, US dollar, driver’s license, passport, debit card, bank card, bank account, withdraw, deposit, change, cash.
and language “I’d like to cash this check”, “I’d like to deposit this money” “I’d like to withdraw $50”, “I’d like to change this to US dollars” “Can I have your bankcard Please?” “Can I have some picture ID?” “Is my driver’s license OK”, “I need your passport please”, “That will be fine”, “May I help you?” “May I help you anymore?”... (additional simple language will be used during the role play)

Banking Role play Activity
Explain to students how to do role play activity.

The customer must perform each individual bank transaction with only 1 bank teller then find another bank teller to perform the next transaction.
