My decision to pursue an advanced degree in biochemistry stems from childhood interest behind the science of proteins in our body. When I was a child I would ponder why my father had to take insulin to maintain blood sugar levels. It wasn’t until my biochemistry classes in college that I begun to learn extensively on hormones such as insulin and their regulation of biochemical mechanisms. My fascination for biochemistry grew more as I took upper division courses taught by UCR’s very friendly and prestigious professors. Their technical and advanced understanding of biochemistry was an inspiration for me to want to learn more. By completing the biochemistry masters in molecular physiology it will open the door up for many opportunities in research and teaching that can complement my professional career as a physician.
Student of Science I: Motivation: Always loved science – curious about cause of dad’s disease. Loved biochemistry program have sincere interest in biochemistry. A way for me to open up doors for future research or teaching, along with becoming a physician.
II: Background Research Tutoring Volunteerism
III: Educational Interest: Want knowledge to become good physician Understand mamma ling cells learn different drug root of action Career objective physician. Research for dynamics of DNA.. make enjoyable for inner city kids.
Advanced degree stems from --- biochemical mechanisms in the body how that pertains to my father who has been diagnosed with diabetes. Dad injects insulin – gained interest in what insulin was – learned in biochemistry undergrad the importance of insulin in body. During undergrad years -Maturity and study skills have improved drastically throughout undergrad. Gotten chance to also help other students study and learn.
My undergrad Research has allowed for data to be presented to primary schools students. in DNA dynamics under electric field.
