Murder in Athens By Isabella I say that Daphne is innocent because she is my mother and has never done anything wrong in her life. She was always so kind and loved my father the first day she meet him. Though my brother will say she guilty with lame excuses, don’t believe him. He will say make believe stuff just to execute her. Some examples are that she did it so that they would not go away and love someone else. Another thing that he will say is that she hated him and she killed him to make my “brother” sad or something like that. Personally I think that she is not guilty. One, the storekeeper told her it was a love potion, he could have been lying. Two, how could my mother know if it was poison or not. Lastly three, she would never hurt anyone she just wanted her husband to remember her. She follows the rules and never gets out of line and is the most sweetest women I have ever meet. Ok, when she went to the store some weird storekeeper hag went up to her and sold a little “love potion” to her. It was in a little bottle and held about ounce. She did not know it was poison because the water color was pinkish red. More to the red side. It smelled like roses that grew fresh in the spring. As you swished the water around in the bottle it sounded like a calm ocean. The story was that she was at home and wanted her husband to love her forever. Also her slave wanted her boyfriend to love her too. Both women made a plan to fix there problem. They both went go find a store that sold some type of love potion. When they got to the place they wanted to, and old hag, who probably was the storekeeper, sold her a bottle of the “love potion.” She did not know that it was poison. She went home and when it was supper time they put the potion in their drinks. One of them dropped dead immediately and the other suffered for three more weeks. Then her slave was killed because she is a slave and has no rights. That is why my mother is here in court. I say that she is not guilty because she did not know that it was a poison potion.
