______/______ (25 points) Objective: Solving the Problem I have included at least four feature studies somehow in my final composition. I have made each drawing from careful observation, and included all shadows and details that I see in my face using a mirror.  I have combined my feature studies together into a “multiple personality portrait” in an interesting way, unifying them together into an elegant composition. ______/______ (25 points) Studio Skills: Use of Drawing Tools and Techniques I have done my best to draw the features of my face from observation and make them appear to have form (look 3D) by using value and shading.  I have drawn and observed lines, highlights, and shadows on my face, and avoided drawing from schema.  I have toned my paper evenly with charcoal, and used my eraser to find highlights in my face.  I have used charcoal pencils to refine lines and edges on my features.  I show contrast in each of my drawings by including whitest whites and blackest blacks.  I have carefully and neatly applied charcoal to my paper using different techniques and erasing rough edges to make my lines look straight. _____/______ (25 points) Design: Using an Elegant Composition I have used my sketchbook to draw small feature studies before deciding on my final drawing composition.  Each of my final compositions shows two or more facial features.  I have zoomed in on my facial features in my compositions and drew several larger than life.  I have created a connecting element in my final drawing that ties my four drawings together somehow. ______/______ (25 points) Presentation: Care and Craftsmanship of Your Work   

I show patience and care in all areas of my drawing. I have done my best to control and refine my charcoal drawings by erasing edges and adding descriptive lines. I have taken good care of my drawing, and have avoided unwanted marks and creases in the paper. I have neatly glued each drawing to white or black paper for my final presentation.
