Technology Proposal: Inclined Conveyance for Multi-storied Parking This Technology proposal is to design, build and operate a new type of multi storied car parking system exclusive of competitors and to gain steady turnover with an innovative technology.

Description

This multi storied car parking method used in conveying automotives, rolling stocks and materials, for parking and storing in buildings having multiple of floors at different levels. It is applicable as a parking garage for auto mobiles as well as car storage for a show room. Similarly this method is applicable to elevate the cars to residence at high rise apartments & to shopping malls in multi storied buildings.

Background It is found that, in highly inhabited commercial and industrial cities space to park automotives and stock materials is insufficient. It results the continuation of illegal parking on streets and obstruction of traffic. On the other hand space on ground level should be optimized by providing additional floor space anywhere else for storing and parking automotives, rolling stocks, and materials accommodating large floor space. Multy storied parking facilities with a ramp to drive the automobile to upper floors and retrieving is always not possible due high energy consumption of vehicle and requirement of additional drivable space in parking yard. Recently, automatic multi-storey car parks are appearing as a solution to this problem. However, the cost of the mechanical equipments added to the building cost overweight the advantages of such parking facilities. Also such parking devices operated by hydraulic or cables on vertical direction to haul up and bring back to owner, consumes lot of energy, making these methods inevitably expensive.

The introduced method is a multi storied parking and conveying system less sophisticated with low maintenance and operational cost to provide a multi storied parking and storing facility that could be constructed economically. More over the inclined conveyance method is having the advantage of pulling load instead of lifting it, to minimize energy required during haulage and initiating the motion.

This Technology would generate steady return from a limited capital of investment. In this Automated parking method elevator is driven along rails, carrying the automobile by means of over head traction to desired parking floor.

Summary of the proposed method This method of Automobiles parking comprises a multi storied building and an inclined hoist way. The elevator is driven along rails, carrying the automobile in the inclined hoist way by means of over head traction to desired parking floor.

This elevated parking system having a hoist way, comprise of rails held on two structural beams at same inclination, connected with the building structure. Therefore the elevator travels along the rail track extending though multiple of parking floors between top most and the lowest parking floor including the loading station.

The hoist way takes shape of an inclined passage providing access for the elevator trolley to move on wheels inside the vacant passage on a pair of rails secured to a pair of structural beams supported by the building structure along the same inclination.

The elevator trolley constitutes a carriage frame running on wheels engaged with the rail track. The loading platform, of the elevator trolley held in horizontal position between two arms of carriage frame resting on a pair of inclined rails. The passage between two rail tracks accommodating the elevator trolley. The elevator trolley is maintained in position and controlled by cables secured to the upper end of the elevator trolley by traction pulley driven by overhead electrical motor. The opening at any floor and the platform of the elevator trolley are constructed in such a way that, when the platform reaches any floor, this floor and the elevator platform creates a drive way for the hoisted automobile to drive in to the desired floor.

There are two types of propelling methods applicable in inclined conveyance. 1. The elevator can be accompanied by a counter weight driven in another railing system which can be a vertical hoist way

If the counter weight is driven in a vertical hoist way, the vertical distance available to travel the counter weight is shorter than the distance travel by the elevator trolley along the inclined path between two ends. To solve this problem the counter weight is suspended on the cables drawn over traction pulley and suspended the balancing weight on another sheave to returns the cable end to a stationary grip at a higher level. So that, the counter weight travels in opposite direction at half the speed of elevator, which is traveling along the inclined track. As the platform goes up, the counterweight goes down, and vice versa. This manner the weight of the elevator is balanced by the counterweight which is typically higher than the weight of the elevator platform.

2. A similar hoist way situated in opposed manner

In this method of operation counter weight can be another trolley driven in a hoist way situated equally opposite manner to balance with the first elevator trolley. This way two elevator trolleys are used at the same time, one on each side of the overhead traction pulley by creating locomotion alternately reversing the direction of the drive mechanism.

Thus the load on elevator motor may be advantageously minimized by attaching a counter weight driven on opposite direction in separate hoist way accompanied by another rail system. When the elevator trolley goes up, the counterweight goes down, and vice versa.

The elevator is having the platform of rigid surface maintained in horizontal position, so that the automobiles from any floor could be driven in and out the elevator by the driver, when it reaches the designated floor. A close tolerance is maintained between the elevator platform sill and the sill of open space of the floor in hoist way at any floor, serving as the drivable access to parking spaces on the required floor. The electrical cables and communication cables connected to mobile trolley to function its equipments and controls are drawn from fixed locations. An unobstructed access is provided along the inclined path and in vertical hoist way for these cables to flex as desired during the mobility of elevator. Advantageously, traction motor directed by the controller typically a relay logic or computerized device that directs starting, acceleration, deceleration and stopping of the elevator platform. The inclined vehicle conveyance also provided with suitable braking systems and safeties that grab onto the rail when the car moves too fast and whenever required to stop, like any other traction cable elevator system operates. The bottom of the shaft of elevator and balance weight, are mounted with heavy-duty shock absorber systems to soften the elevator system landing. Advantageously, the platform of the elevator and the loading floor are held together while the parking vehicle drives in and out of the elevator.

This elevated car parking system is •

less complicated,

lesser maintenance and operational cost,

Lesser construction cost.

A potential investment opportunity generating steady return !!!
