Multi Element Skimmer Skimming Elements: Discs, Drums, Brushes Pick up rates β 12m3/hr to 100m3/hr Multi Element Skimmer The M50 multi element skimmer has inter changeable skimming elements. Disc and drums for skimming medium to light oil oils and brushes for medium to heavy oil. Drum elements are used when skimming in current. Oil pick-up occurs as the rotating elements pass through oil which adheres to them. Scrappers remove the oil from the elements. The scrapped oil runs into oil collection tray and into a collection sump from where it is pumped away.
General configuration of skimmer
The elements are rotated by hydraulic gear motor. The speed of the drive motors is controlled by the speed controller situated on the oil tank of the power pack. The hydraulic motor speed is variable from 0-100 rpm. The hydraulic motor that turns the elements receives itβs power from a hydraulic power pack which is driven by a diesel engine.
Pump Options: Onboard hydraulic driven submersible discharge pump is incorporated into the oil collection sump. No suction hose is required, only 3β lay flat discharge hose. The onboard pump model has 3 x hydraulic hoses of different sizes to connect the power pack to the skimmer and pump. The hoses cannot be mixed up and do not require marking. On land pump. Any 3β self priming suction pump can be used to suck oil away from the skimmer. The Spate 75C diaphragm suction pump is often used and incorporated into the power pack. Both pump models have separate controls for pump speed and disc speed. The disc speed can be increased or decreased independently of the pump speed. The power pack can be either electric or recoil start.
Quick release mechanism to remove and replace skimming elements
The power pack comes with wheels for easy movement.
