TEA POT MULTI COLORED PRINT How to do a multi colored easy cut print

SET UP STILL LIFE AND DRAW OUT DESIGN

FINISH DRAWING AND CUT 8 SHEETS OF PAPER TO SIZE

HOW TO LINE UP REGISTRATION ON PAPER & BLOCK On a sheet of tag board place cut paper and trace around, then center easy-cut material (plate) in center and trace around that, label as shown.

TRANSFER & NUMBER CUT PAPER Transfer drawing on plate

Number all your cut paper

PRINTING AND CUTTING SUPPLIES Plate, Brayer, baren, gouges & ink are the materials needed to complete a print. The Brayer is the roller to apply ink The Plate is the plexi-glass used to roll out ink before applying to easy-cut plate that has your design drawn on it The Gouges are used to cut easy-cut plate The Ink for printing The Barren used to press ink onto the paper

GOUGE OUT ANY WHITE AREAS 1ST Gouge out the areas that you would like to remain white on your print

INK UP PLATE FOR PRINTING WITH LIGHTEST COLOR 1ST Use a small amount of ink on the plate.

Ink needs to be tacky like an orange peel before applying

INKING PLATE Place ink on plate

Make sure you have an even coat of ink

REGISTRATION FOR EVEN PRINT Place plate on registration board where marked, top side to top side

Place cut paper over plate in area marked for paper for proper registration

BURNISH PLATE CHECK BEFORE COMPLETELY REMOVING FROM PLATE Burnish paper to receive ink

Printed surface: check by lifting up edge to see if print is even

PRINT ALL 8 PIECES OF PAPER AND CLEAN UP MATERIALS Print all 8 papers with 1st color

Clean up and dry all materials properly when done with color

CUT AWAY ALL AREAS THAT YOU WANT TO REMAIN YELLOW

PRINT UP 2ND LIGHTEST COLOR ON ALL 8 Print the 2nd color (gold) on all 8 prints

Clean up all materials

CUT OUT ALL AREAS THAT WILL REMAIN GOLD THEN PRINT 3RD COLOR Cut out gold areas

Print the Blue. Clean up all materials. Then cut away all areas that you want to remain blue.

LOOK AT PRINT SO FAR AND PRINT NEXT COLOR This is a set of prints with 4 colors. The green area was printed after the blue using the same process.

Red was printed after the green was cut away

CUT AWAY RED THEN PRINT BLACK LAST

Cut away the red areas which will leave only the black to be printed last

Print black last over all 8 prints

COMPLETED EDITION NEEDS TO BE SIGNED AND LABELED CORRECTLY WITH TITLE, NUMBER & NAME IN PENCIL ON THE BOTTOM OF EACH PRINT
