Passing Shall-Issue CCW in Maryland could save about 41 lives per year •

Over a 5 year period, from 2002 till 2007, Maryland averaged 539 murders per year States that enacted Shall Issue CCW saw an average 7.65% decrease in murders 7.65% of 539 is 41 lives SAVED
Mission Statement: Maryland Shall Issue is an all volunteer, nonpartisan effort dedicated to the preservation and advancement of all gun owners' rights in Maryland, with a primary goal of CCW reform to allow all law-abiding citizens the right to carry a concealed weapon; and to the education of the community to the awareness that 'shall issue' laws have, in all cases, resulted in decreased rates of violent crime.

41 States have Shall Issue CCW or Equivalent 36 States have Shall-Issue. AK, AZ, AR, CO, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, NC, ND, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, WY
VT is Unrestricted (meaning anyone can legally carry concealed without a permit) (AK is also an Unrestricted State, but also issues permits on a Shall-Issue basis, to allow for reciprocity with other states)
AL, CT, and IA
technically May-Issue, but in practice issue on a Shall-Issue basis.
MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD MSI is a grass roots organization and we are only as strong as our members. We succeed based on the actions of every individual working to secure and advance gun rights in the State of Maryland. There are various ways to get involved:

Call, write, and visit your legislators, let them know how you feel. Support candidates who will aide in the pursuit of achieving the goal of Shall Issue in MD Join MSI and participate in rally’s, protests and community outreach events held during the year
NOTES MSI dues are $10 per year The membership year is Oct 1st to Sep 30th. All memberships expire Sep 30 of each year.
MD and NJ are May-Issue, and only rarely issue permits. HI is May-issue, but almost never issues permits. IL and WI are No-Issue.
