Dear Martha, I hope all is well with you. Things are well with us in the Salzano household. Sofia is a sophomore at Northwest Technical Career Academy. She is in the engineering and design program. Fashion design is her favorite class. I am teaching Sofia and her friend how to drive so that is adding a few grey hairs to my head. Luca, is a freshman and Northwest Technical Career Academy. Can you believe that little boy is in high school? I remember the days when he was in your class. It still was his best year at Elementary school. Luca is also in engineering, but he is in the robotics department. His robotic group at school, entered into a robot competition this year. Their robot had many troubles, but it ended up being a good learning experience for them. I adopted my nephew Leonardo, about a year and a half ago. After some adjusting in the family dynamics we are all settled in. He is doing well at school after getting him caught up. Dante is in Middle school. He is doing well. He likes his teachers and is getting good grades. It is hard to believe that my littlest is in middle school. I do not know if I ever told you what it meant to me the year you took Luca in when you did not need to. It was so precious to me. You were able to inspire him to want to do better on his own. That was the only year his handwriting was truly legible. You also helped me realize that he needed outside help and helped me find the resources to get that help. Your extra time that you took to help my son amongst all the other kids was invaluable to me. Watching you help my son is one of the reasons I decided to get a teacher’s aid degree. I would really love to be able to help and inspire children to want to do better like you do. You taught me that all kids deserve to learn and grow. Thank you, Cheryl Salzano
