Afanda Dwi Ragil R. 04211640000023 To: Laboratorium Marine Fluid Machinery and System Marine Engineering Department Marine Technology Faculty Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology Surabaya, Indonesia To whom it may concern, I am writing to meet one of the requirements for registering on the recruitment of Laboratorium Marine Fluid Machinery and System (MMS) 2019. I am also writing this motivation letter to devote my objectives and backgrounds as to why I register on this recruitment and want to join with the lab. Since last year, I have been imagining about who I will be in the future. Just because success does not come by itself, I have to determine and choose my own path to reach my future—my best future to be exact. I have visions and missions for myself, both for the short-term and the long haul. Before I graduate from this institute, I wish to finish my Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. I’m already receiving Education now in this Marine Department, I will achieve Research in my final essay, but I have yet to complete Community Service. I want to dedicate myself for people in Kecamatan Tegalsari, Sidoarjo, by making and realizing desalination system and equipments in the village. I want to do it because on their daily activity, they are using saltwater. Before I go into it, I have to know and understand well about desalination system and its details. So I want to join this lab to realize my dream and deepen my knowledge about piping, fluid, and system. For the last year, I have been working in the EPC Office as a junior staff for doing project from Mr. Dwi Priyanta, one of the lecturers in Marine Department. I recieve knowledge and insight about pipeline engineering, especially pipeline in oil and gas company. I want to make my knowledge about piping and pipeline deeper as well. In my opinion, if I can understand both of them, I can join oil and gas company in the future corresponding with my targets and ideals. Moreover, I have chosen to study further about one system before I graduate from this department, which is system related with pipe and fluid.
