In the slums of Calcutta, she worked with beggars, lepers, and infants that were regularly left to die on the streets and in the garbage bins.

Known as “The Saint of the Gutters,” Mother Teresa devoted her life to helping the poorest of poor, the sick and the dying.

“I want the world to find the poor in their own families first…it’s a sad thing to see people suffer especially in the broken family…that is the greatest poverty.”

Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 “She
