Terms: 1. We are offering a total of 4 scholarships of $750 each. We will select 4 students from 1 or more area high schools. 2. We are restricting the applicants to those students planning to attend a trade/vocational school in the fall. The students must be enrolling in a 1 to 2 year vocational program. 3. This scholarship is not renewable. 4. Please use the enclosed special SVDP scholarship application. 5. To be properly considered please make sure your application addresses each of the 3 selection guidelines. 6. Payment will be made in the form of 2 checks for $375 each written to the school. The fall semester check will be issued to the student upon proof of enrollment in the fall semester. The spring semester check will be issued upon proof of enrollment in the spring semester and proof of successful completion of the fall semester. 7. The recipient is responsible for arranging for payment of the scholarship. 8. To arrange for payments of the scholarship call St. Vincent de Paul at 329-SVDP and make an appointment with the manager or assistant manager. 9. Final selection will require the candidate to interview with the scholarship committee.

Selection guidelines: (In order of our priority.) 1. Demonstrated financial need. 2. Life style of community service and volunteerism. 3. At least average grades. Please include class rank and GPA. Scholarship description: Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Monroe, Inc. Scholarship To be awarded to 4 graduating seniors from 1 or more area high schools who will be attending an accredited technical school. Selection will be based on need, community service/volunteerism and scholarship. The scholarships will be in the amount of $750 each. The first half will be paid upon proof of enrollment in the fall semester and the second half upon satisfactory completion of the first semester and proof of enrollment in the second semester. The recipient is responsible for arranging for payment of the scholarship by calling St. Vincent de Paul and making an appointment with the store manager or their representative. Separate application and a face-to-face interview of the candidate by the committee are required.
