Photocopy, or scan and print, onto thick paper or light card. Cut out circles. Glue two large circles together, back to back and allow to dry. Laminate both sides of circles. Carefully find, mark and pierce the centres of the circles. Place the small circle on top of the large and fasten together with a 2 pronged fastener. 7. The Mode-O- Matic will give you the notes for any mode in any key eg line up “Ionian” with the note “C” and the notes of C Ionian will be indicated by the small arrows. The primary chords used for accompaniments are above the mode name, the “auxillary chords’ below. “I don’t particularly like modes a lot” is a mnemonic of the names and order of the modes; on the back is a poem describing the character each mode.
