To The Principals/Directors, JNTUH Affiliated Engineering Colleges Sir, Sub: II, III and IV B.Tech. – II Semester Mid Examinations - Instructions – Regarding. ** ** ** (1) CONDUCT OF MID-EXAMS FOR II, III AND IV B.TECH.- II SEM: The same system of conduct of mid-examinations which was implemented for first year B.Tech. students, will be followed for II, III and IV B.Tech. – II Semester students, also. This newly introduced each Mid Examination consists of (i) Objective type Test (for a maximum of 20 marks) of 20 minutes duration, containing multiple choice questions, fill-in the blanks and True/False and/or match the following type. (ii) Subjective type Test (for a maximum of 20 marks) of 90 minutes duration, with 6 questions—out of which the student has to answer 4 questions. The Mid Exams will be conducted in two sessions (i) 10-00 AM to 12-00 noon and (ii) 2-00 PM to 4-00 PM as per the academic calendar. The quiz paper for each subject shall be prepared in four sets containing different questions in each set. The Four Sets of quiz papers shall be supplied to the colleges in encrypted form 3 days before the commencement of the mid examinations. These papers are to be decrypted at the college by receiving a password on the day of examination like EDEP end examinations. The University Exam Branch releases the password on the day of examination, through Exam Portal at 8.30 AM and 12.30 PM for FN and AN sessions respectively. The Four sets of papers are to be distributed sequentially with the starting set number supplied by the University.

: 2 : The official key for Objective Type Test will be supplied by the University. In case of any correction in the key, it should be brought to the notice of the University by the affiliated College, immediately. The question bank for subjective type Test, will be made available by the University one day before the Examination. The subject teacher shall set the question paper from this question bank. The subjective type is only one set of question paper. Squad/observers will be sent, at random, to some of the affiliated Colleges. In this connection, services of teaching staff working in the affiliated Colleges will be utilized. The Principals have to upload the marks awarded to the students in Subjective type and Objective type tests, within 5 working days from the last day of examination conducted. (2) CONDUCT OF PRACTICAL EXAMS FROM SECOND SEMESTER ONWARDS: Involvement of external Examiners for conducting University Practical Examination is compulsory. About 8 to 10 Colleges which are nearer, constitute a group, so as to exchange examiners for the purpose of conducting the University Practical Examinations. These groups will be decided, shortly, by the University. To meet the extra expenditure involved in this regard, now, the colleges can retain Rs.200-00 and Rs.100-00 per student in respect of the semester regular and supplementary exams., respectively.
