Message It is indeed an honour to be associated with the People’s Vigilance Committee on Human Rights (PVCHR). Your work epitomizes your relentless pursuit for justice for those victimized and oppressed by systems perpetuating violence and oppression. I have met many such victims of violence across the length and breadth of this country both as a Member NCW and Member Planning Commission. Whenever human dignity is wounded, civilization takes a step backward. Torture and Human Rights Violation are assaults on human dignity. To destroy communal forces and end violence must therefore be our common goal. PVCHR has played an exemplary role in the field to address issues of custodial violence and torture. The National Consultation proposed for promoting advocacy for survivors of torture and organized violence is another step ahead in this direction. The manual, “Giving Voices” is an exemplary tool for all those working on the theme of Human Rights Violation and Torture in India. I am certain that it will play a crucial role for mitigating systemic Human Rights Violation and Torture. I wish PVCHR and the National Consultation success and the very best for the future.
