Mercy is a freely-given compassionate response. The concept is carried in Greek by eleeô and related words 56 times and by oiktirmos and related words eight times (Greek eleeô [1456], eleos [1459], eleêmôn [1458]; oiktirmos [2994], oiktirmôn [2995], oiktirô [2993]). // La miséricorde est une réponse gratuite et compatissante. L’idée est exprimée en Grec par eleeô (ou des mots de cette racine) 56 fois, et par le mot oiktirmos (ou des mots de la même racine) huit fois. 1.
