Becoming a member of NACOLE allows you to join a growing community of police oversight professionals, individuals, law enforcement officials and others working to strengthen citizen review and to promote greater police accountability. It will also enable you to collaborate with us in continuing to produce world-class annual training conferences, facilitate networking opportunities, disseminate best practices, provide technical assistance to new and existing oversight agencies and to act as advocates of oversight. Membership in NACOLE is broken down into three basic categories: Organizational: $300 Annually This category consists of agencies that provide citizen oversight of law enforcement by legislative or executive mandate. These agencies receive one transferable Regular Membership, with voting privileges. The remaining members of the Board and staff receive non-voting membership status. Regular: $150 Annually This category is for individuals who are not sworn law enforcement officers and who serve or have served as a member of a Board or Commission of a citizen oversight agency. It is also eligible for staff of agencies that are mandated by legislative or executive authority to investigate and review complaints against law enforcement officers. Associate: $100 Annually Those eligible for this category are individuals concerned with the oversight of law enforcement or who have a general interest in police accountability issues. These members are able to participate in all NACOLE activities, including serving on committees, but are not eligible to vote or to serve as officers of the organization.
