Colossians 1. 9. for this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. 1. 10. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, 1. 15. He is the image if the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 1. 16. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible or invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authority; all things were created by him and for him. 1. 17. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 1. 18. And he is the head of the body, the Church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. 1. 19. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, 1. 20. and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in haven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. 1. 28. we proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. 2. 2. My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 2. 3. in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 2. 8. see to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. 2. 9. For in Christ all the fullness of Deity lives in bodily form, 2. 10. and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority. 2. 11. In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with the circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ. 2. 12. Having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.

2. 20. since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belong to it? 3. 1. Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 3. 2. set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3.3. For you died, and your life in now hidden with Christ in God 3. 5. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: 3. 22. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heat, as working for the Lord, not for men, 3. 24. since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 4. 4. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 25/11/09 Romans 1. 5. obedience that comes from faith 1. 16. I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. 1. 24. God gave them over in the sinful desires of their heart. 1. 26. God gave them over to shameful lusts 1. 28. furthermore, since they did not think it worth while to retain the knowledge of God, he have them over to depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 2. 12. All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 2. 13. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight but it is those who obey the law who will be declared. 2. 29. A man is a Jew if he is one inwardly, and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by written code. Such man’s praise is not from men but from God. 3. 10. As it is written, “there is no one righteous, not even one” 3. 20. therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law, rather through the law we become conscious of sin. 3. 21. But now a righteousness from God has been made known, apart from the law, to which Law and Prophets testify. 3. 22. this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe, there is no difference, 3. 23. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 3. 24. and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

3. 25. God did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he has left the sin committed beforehand unpunished 3. 25. he did it demonstrate his justice at this present time, so as to just and justifies those who have faith in Jesus. 4. 17. God who gives life to the dead, and calls things that are not as though they were. 4. 22. being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
