MEDICINE KIOSKS Abstract Device can fetch out the medicines automatically for the basic common symptoms, and the medicines provided by the machine are only for the timely relief and in emergency case The aim of this project is that people would be able to access the drugs via patient kiosks in public places such as drug stores, malls, bus / railway stations, on highways, areas where medical stores are limited. Regular replenishment can help in not only tracking usage pattern and thus taking precautionary measures but also ensure availability of drugs 24x7. Diagnosis is always a concern for the people living in rural area. At the same time medicine availability also has a major impact excluding the factor about complete cure. The aim of this prototype is that temporary relief is to be given out that can give people a better chance for resisting the health from withdrawing before they are able to reach doctor. Major advantage is that people would be able to access the drugs via patient kiosks in public places such as drug stores, malls, bus, railway stations, on highways, areas where medical stores are limited.

Literature Review:

1. Design of Automatic Medication Dispenser It is necessary to provide medication to the aged in time. Automatic medication dispenser is designed specifically for users who take medications without close professional supervision. It relieves the user of the error-prone tasks of administering wrong medicine at wrong time. The major components of this medication dispenser are a microcontroller interfaced with an alphanumeric keypad, an LED display, a Motor Controller, an Alarm system, a multiple pill container and dispenser. The overall operation is to facilitate the user to set the timings to dispense multiple pills at required timings. The Alarm system is designed to provide two types of indications – one by lighting an LED and the other by providing a beep sound. The user is required to press a button to get the pill and reset the alarm button. The second alarm is to indicate the optimal availability of the pills in the container to warn the user to refill the dispenser with the required quantity of pills. The major objective is to keep the device simple and cost efficient. The software used is reliable and stable. Elderly population can benefit from this device as it avoids expensive in-home medical care.

2. Smart Medication Dispenser This paper proposes a novel idea to provide the information automatically to patients to take their right dosages at appropriate time. Now a day, most of the patients may forget to take their medicines as per the prescription due to mental stress. Hence, it may cause prolong period to recover from the diseases. Sometimes, the aged patients are gulping tablets and their dosage level incorrectly causing a severe problem. Therefore, it is necessary to the patient to take proper medicines at precise quantity and time. To overcome these problems, a novel Smart Medication Dispenser (SMD) system is proposed. This system uses 4x4 matrix keypad, Microcontroller, LCD display and Real Time Clock (RTC) module, GSM module and an alarm system used to intimate the patients to take proper dosage according to the prescription at right time. This portable and economical SMD system would help aged patients, especially to the illiterate patients. 3. An Intelligent Patient Medicine Reminder System The aim of this project is to remind individuals who forget to take their medicines on time. Elderly people because of their age typically forget about to take their drugs. This project will support to remind the patient to take his/her medicinal drug at prescribed time. The proposed system is best suited for elderly persons and those who're very busy, as this device will now not most effective remind them of their drug treatments with a buzzer sound however also shows the call of the medication to be taken at that time. The patient can store the respective time of the unique medicine by a matrix keypad. Based on an RTC (Real Time Clock) interfaced to the microcontroller, the programmed time for medicinal drug is displayed on the LCD in conjunction with a buzzer sound to alert the patient approximately taking the best medicine. The microcontroller used in this challenge is of 8051 family. RTC used maintains a correct time as it is supported with the assistance of a crystal.

Existing System: Most of times patients may forget to take the medicines at proper time as per the specified in the prescription which may cause in late recovery from the disease/illness. So it is necessary to take proper medicines in proper quantity at proper time. In this paper we introduce an Android based application for the patients. This application will remind their user to take proper medicines in proper quantity at proper time by automatically setting the reminders in the mobile. These reminders will be automatically set by the application as per the prescription. This reminder will remind their user patient that now it’s time to take the medicine.

Proposed System:

The aim of this project is that people would be able to access the drugs via patient kiosks in public places such as drug stores, malls, bus / railway stations, on highways, areas where medical stores are limited.
