March Newsletter 2019 Our Valentine’s party was a blast! We had a wonderful afternoon with our friends. A big thank you to all the parents who helped plan and lead the party. Also, many thanks for my gifts of “love” that I received. Reading will focus on the letters Z,Y & vowels, identifying end punctuation, predictions, non-fiction stories, fix-up strategies: decoding and humorous fiction. In Math, we will write number sentences to solve subtraction and addition problems, take apart 10 by subtracting, compose numbers 11-15 using concrete objects and drawings to show a group of 10 and some more, make a table. Religion will focus on understanding the meaning of Lent and how it is a time to grow in God’s love, learn the values expressed when we share meals and identify the importance of the bread and wine used at Mass. Show & Tell and library on Fridays. Your child may bring in an item to share and discuss. Please bring books back by Thursday.
A list of High Frequency words will be coming home. Please review these words on a weekly basis with your child. Practice 5-10 words per night. Scholastic book orders will be due on Tuesday, March 12th. Please make checks payable to: Scholastic Book Club. Thank You! Please send in plastic milk caps and empty cereal boxes
