Troop meeting: March 6, 2019

Have the Troop Guides introduce themselves to the new scouts and have them all sit together. 7:30 to 7:35

Introduction of new scouts

SPL or ASPL – call Faris Abdellatif, Joseph Murphy, and Michael Smith to the front of the room. Introduce them as formers members of the Raptor patrol from Pack 16. Each member of Leadership team shakes each scout’s hand and introduces himself. Have each of them put their hand on the patrol flag and have them recite the Scout Oath and Law. Congratulations give a round of applause. Return to their seats. 7:45 to 7:50

Announcements

Uniform inspection next week – March 13th. Scouts attending Life Scout conservation project meet at end of meeting. Any gear still missing?? 7:50 to 8:30 Break-out into groups. Scoutmasters and Leadership Team divide up to help campers and patrol box groups. New scouts meet with Troop Guides (those not going camping) and Mr. Smith Camping group – get into patrols (see list), create duty rosters and menus, Dutch oven cooking for dinner Saturday night. See menu packet or book from Mr. Anderson. Next week the patrols with get together to come up with 2 skits and one individual patrol activity that will last at least one hour. If they have time they can do this tonight. Duty rosters and menus must be completed tonight and approved by a scoutmaster. Remaining scouts to get patrol boxes from Troop room and inventory, take everything out of boxes and make a list of missing items. Report to Mr. Kovach.

Librarians – if in attendance- bring bin from Troop room and set up. Make a list of needed Eagle required merit badge books. Also time for anyone needing to get requirements signed off. 8:30 to 8:40 Return Patrol boxes and library to the Troop room. Also begin cleaning up. 8:40 to 8:50

Announcements / Scoutmaster minute

8:50 to 9:00 Meeting for those participating in the Conservation Service Project for Life Scout requirement. Quick PLC – patrol leaders must prepare an activity to lead at an upcoming Troop meeting – create a plan for the activity – describe the activity, time needed, materials needed, any additional information, must be submitted by the March 20th meeting and needs to be approved by SPL or ASPL.
