CHRISM MASS AS PILGRIMAGE: We often speak of Lent as a journey, a pilgrimage. Pilgrimage is an ancient sign of penance and an act of faith and hope. Whether you go to Rome or Lourdes or Jerusalem, or simply to a local shrine or to your cathedral church, a pilgrimage is a simple and powerful way to pray during the Lenten season. The Chrism Mass is an annual liturgy celebrated by our Bishop, assisted by all of the priests of the Diocese, during which he blesses the sacramental oil used throughout the Diocese for the liturgical year. The Bishop invites the faithful of the entire Diocese to celebrate with him in our cathedral for this occasion. This year, the Chrism Mass will at 7:00 p.m. on April 7th. This is a wonderful occasion for us to make a pilgrimage to our Cathedral with family and/or friends to experience the grace of this beautiful celebration. PASSION SUNDAY (PALM SUNDAY) LITURGY: Please note that we will again gather in the Parish Hall to begin Mass next Saturday and Sunday. We will process to the church at the appropriate time. Please join us at the hall to begin our celebration next weekend.
