From the Staff hey! i'm glad to have met you guys this summer! i miss you all like crazy, though! it's weird having a full comfy bed, and not a wagon to sleep in every night. i hope i'll be seeing you all again next year! ~ Jess! ps; when i say PARTY you say CENTRAL!

Hey Ranchers, I hope you are all doing well and having lots of FUN! I guess you have adjusted to school life by now and back into the routine again. Things are very quiet here at the Ranch these days except for when the horses get out and we have to get them all back inside again, I guess they miss all of you as well. We really miss you after you leave and the ranch is all quiet. While your busy with school and all the other things you’re involved in don’t forget to spend time with God. Wherever you need Him He’s always there. He’s your forever friend and will never leave you. God Bless. Dianne ps. Pepper had her kittens and we found them, they are really cute!

What does it mean to be a Christian??

Often times we forget about all the different ways that God is working at camp. It is really easy to see how camp impacts the lives of kids age 6-16. But there is a whole group of individuals whose lives are changed and impacted just as much. Our staff also grow and change. Every year it is exciting to watch and see how God will move and work in the lives of our staff. Consider a summer or just a few weeks working at CSR, see how you can change a life and have your life changed too!

First of all, to be a Christian means that you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. You’ve realized that you are a sinner and that the only way to heaven is through faith in Jesus, who died on the cross to take the punishment for your sins. Knowing Jesus as your personal Savior means you’ll spend eternity with him in heaven and have him as your best friend here on earth. Way to go! But there’s more to it than that. Being a Christian also means that we live our lives each day in a way that honors Jesus. A true Christian has Jesus living inside his or her heart (see Colossians 1:27) So a Christian can’t just go on living as he or she feels like. Christians are supposed to love Jesus and grow in faith and obedience to him with each new day (see Colossians 3:1-17) Sure, sometimes we mess up, but Jesus is always there to help us get back on the right path again. Sometimes obeying Jesus is hard. But God gives every Christian a special gift to help-the Holy Spirit. When you believe in Jesus, the Holy Sprit come and changes your heart so that living for God is something you want to do, not something you have to do. Cool, huh? Hey!!! 14-16 year olds!!! Check out our 2 week LIT-Leadership in Training Program. Learn how to be a better leader within the camp and in your community. Apply soon, limited space available.

From the Sheriff’s desk…... Hi Everyone! I trust you are all settled into school by now. And I hope you are missing the ranch. It’s really quiet here without you...too quiet. But before you know it, we’ll be planning for next year again. Actually we are looking to kick next year off with a bang! For all of you who register before December 31, 2009 we will lower the cost from $305/week to $285/ week, for overnight camp. So remind your mom and dad to register now so they can save. Since everyone left at the end of August, we have been quite busy here at CSR. We have painted 4

rooms in the west wing (hope to have the other 2 completed in a couple of weeks). We have repaired some of the fencing around the arena. We are in the process of building a new residence for Fraser and Lori. We are completing the new signage for the wagons. There is still a lot we want to do and if you know of anyone with time to spare, tell them CSR could really use their help. We are working to add some new activities for 2010 and hoping to improve our current selection of games and activities. The horses will be back next year as well as the wall, canoeing, and field games. We are hoping to have new material for our campfire as well. Enjoy your fall and winter and we will continue to pray that you will be safe and do well in your

studies. I hope to see you all next summer!

“Blessed are those whose strength is from the Lord…” Psalm 84:5a Blessings!

Last laugh at the Barn… There was a preacher who was trying to sell his horse. A man stopped by to see how the horse rode. The preacher told the man that instead of saying “walk” say “Praise the Lord” and instead of saying “Whoa” say “Amen”. So the man got on the horse and said, “Praise the Lord,” and the horse started to walk. The man then said, “Praise the Lord,” again and the horse started to trot. He said it a few more times, then the horse started galloping. Suddenly a cliff appeared. The man yelled “Whoa!” but the horse wouldn’t stop. He tried yelling all sorts of things, and he tried to pull the horse up, but the horse wouldn’t stop. Then suddenly he remembered what to say. The man said, “Amen.” The horse stopped right before they fell off. The man was so relieved that he put his hand on his forehead and then said, “Praise the Lord.” Brad: Here's my drawing of a horse and wagon. Art & Crafts Counselor: I see the horse. But where's the wagon? Brad: The horse will draw the wagon. Sara fell and broke her arm. The doctor put it in a sling. 'Will I be able to play the piano when my arm heals?' Sara asked the doctor. 'Sure you will,' the doctor replied. 'That's amazing!' said Sara. 'I never took a lesson in my life!'

Jack went to see the camp nurse. 'I fell last night,' he said. 'And I was unconscious for eight hours.' The nurse was shocked. 'How awful. What happened?' 'I fell asleep

The Gift of Giving Our ministry and programs rely on the generosity of individuals and volunteers to impact the lives of our campers and guests each year. There are a variety of ways in which to be part of the CSR Family. Whether financially, volunteering or through your prayer support each one helps Circle Square Ranch happen year after year. We invite you to review the various ways in which you can help impact the lives of campers, staff and guests.

Camper: There's something wrong with my hot dog. Cook: Don't tell me. I'm not a veterinarian

Ellen: I'd like to be in the camp show. Show Director: Have you ever acted before? Ellen: Well, my arm was once in a cast.

Sheriff Cliff lost his favorite Bible while he was mending fences out in the field. Three weeks later, Chance the horse walked up to him carrying the Bible in his mouth. Sheriff Cliff couldn't believe his eyes. He took the precious book out of Chance’s mouth, raised his eyes heavenward and exclaimed, “It's a miracle!” “Not really,” said Chance. “Your name is written inside the cover.”
