Managing Time Relating to Academic Performance of BSN3-C1 of Riverside College 2009-2010
Time management refers to a range of skills, tools, & techniques used to manage time when accomplishing specific task, projects & goals. These sets encompass a wide scope of activities, & these include planning, allocating, setting goals, delegation, analysis of time spent, monitoring, organizing, scheduling, & prioritizing. Initially time management referred to just business or work activities, but eventually the term broadened to include personal activities also. So how does the time management affects student’s academic field? Maintaining a good academic performance takes a lot of work to do. We have to juggle different requirements- the quizzes, exams, projects, etc. There are also extra-curricular activities & out of school activities plus your personal life. So how we will maintain that excellent academic performance? It is said that it takes a lot of skills to have a better academic performance. These are note-taking skills, studying, &time management skills. Time management skill is one of the predictors of better academic performance & achievement especially for college students. Furthermore another study is conducted to determine which of the two- the management or leisure activities- are effective in lowering the academic stress. The result shows that the time management had a greater effect in lowering academic
stress than leisure activities. Because of this students are encourage to attend seminars about time management & to be provided with a lot of information & training on time management.
Statement of the Problem: The purpose of this study was to determine on how the BSN3-C1, students managing time to their academic performance who are enrolled in Riverside College. More specifically this study sought answers to the following questions: 1) What is the profile of the respondents in terms of the following
variables? a. Age b. Gender c. Location/address 2) What are the factors affecting time management to the academic performance of the BSN3-C1 students? a. Schedule of classes b. Daily activities c. Sleep-wake pattern d. leisure
3) Is the significant difference on the level of time managing of BSN3-C1 students when they are grouped according to the following variables? a. Age b. Gender c. Location
Statement of the Hypothesis: There is no significant difference on the level of time managing of BSN3-C1 students Conceptual/Theoretical Framework of the study.

Significance of the Study *Students For the students through this, they can manage their time effectively at the same time they can priorities their time to studies. Scope and lamination of the Study This study only concerned in determining the level of time management of BSN3-C1 students during the month of July-August 2009.
Definition of Terms: *BSN3-C1- respondents *Time – a period during which something (as an action, process. or
condition) exists or continues *Time management- refers to a range of skills, tools and
techniques used to manage time when accomplishing. *Academic Performance * Leisure
