Need to know information: Wheel & Axle- This simple machine works by being attached together and rotating in another hollow cylinder or chassis (base of the vehicle). How it works… Wheel & Axle- Moves Lego Square- Stays Stationary

Your Challenge: To create a vehicle that will go the furthest distance, while following the restrictions below. o You may only use the materials provided. o Your vehicle should be able to stay together. o Persons should not have to worry about being thrown, tossed, dragged, etc. by the vehicle. o Your seating area for the vehicle may not spin. o The entire vehicle may not spin. o You must have a seating area. o You may not push, shove, toss, or throw your vehicle. This is considered poor sportsmanship. o You should only have to release your vehicle to make it work. Your materials: 5 CD’s 2 ½’ Masking Tape 3 paperclips 3 Elastic Bands 1 Pair of Scissors 4 Straws 3 Index Cards
Step 1- Brainstorming- Discuss with your partner possible solutions, and sketch out and label 4 possible solutions. All sketches should be 3d or isometric.
Step 2- Pick the idea you like the best. Step 3- Draw the idea you and your partner like the best neatly on AutoSketch. This drawing should be neat, labeled, and isometric (3d). Make sure everything makes sense. When you are done click on the File Pull down Menu Then on Print then ok, and then yes. Step 4- Build it. Feel free to test your vehicle as much as you wish. Step 5- Test. The formal test will be done midway through class on Thursday.
Step 6- Feedback- You will write a 2 paragraph reflection about your experience. Make sure to follow the rules and guidelines for writing a good reflection on the Y drive.
