WE COMMEND for their fine display of dvic pride in the erection of their large, handsome theater build-

extends congratulations to the

Greater Majestic Theater - >

The magnificent edifice of the Greater Majestic is more appreciated when you consider, the evolution of the modern theater in San Antonio.

In 1852, when the Bell Jewelry Co. began business in San Antonio, the only theater here was the "Old Variety" on West Commerce St. and in "them days" this was the playhouse of the city. Likewise, the Bell Jewelry points with pardonable pride to their steady growth which has been in keeping with the city and modern business expansion and from a small beginning in 1852, we have grown to -one of the finest jewelry stores m the State. It has long been our determination to produce in all of our work, only the finest type of buildings that present-day engineering and science will permit, and this, we believe, has been accomplished in no small measure in the New and Greater MAJESTIC theater and office building. As the General Contractors, responsible to the Interstate Amusement Company,

the owners, for the construction of this splendid project, we naturally are proud of * the results we have been able to obtain in bringing to a successful conclusion, an enterprise that reflects such belief in San Antonio, magic metropolis .of the great Southwest. We wish to give full measure of credit to all sub-contractors and material firms which have co-operated so enthusiastically and whole-heartedly in bringing info being one of the finest theatrical and office building structures in all America. Time was when the excellence of a theatre could be judged solely by the pictures it showed. Not so today. To pictures have been added beauty of surroundings, convenience, comforts, and service. Judged by the old standard, the new Majestic Theatre will be remarkable. Judged by the new, it stands as ,one of the most perfect examples of theatre building in the. country. For John Eberson, the architect, did not stop when he erected a splendid exterior. By devotion to detail he made the interior the peer of any similar building in the world. Nothing that would add to the pleasure of the patrons, or employees was overlooked.
